[Color (Midnight sky) ............................... (Raven's feathers)] .................... [Texture (Shining silk) ................................ (Ocean storm) ................................ (Swinging branches of a weeping willow)] .......{Face.................(Smoothly polished ivory) ................................(Carefully carved statue) ……… {Motion... [Grace (Cats playing) …………………………………… (Wind chimes) .................... [Strength (An untested colt) ……………………………………… (A sapling in the wind)] ………………………. [Speed (A young deer)]} …….. {Beauty……………... (A misty day) ……………………………………. (A sunrise) …………………………………... (A rainbow) ……………………………………. (A cloudless sky)]} …Spirit {………… [Quality (Hidden treasure)] ……………………… [Aspects (A newly built structure)] ……………………… [Fear (A young animal that has not learned about danger)] ……………………… [Loyalty (A faithful friend)]} …Mind {………………… [Clarity (A slightly murky stream)] …………………………….. [Depth (A lightless underwater cave) ………………………………………... (A twisting maze)] …………………………….. [Knowledge (An innocent child) ………………………………….............. (A beginner musician) ………………………………….............. (A new martial artist)]} …Soul {………………… [Depth (A deep well) ………………………………………… (Space) ………………………………………… (Trees in the wind)] ……………………………. [Purity (A new house) ………………………………………… (New snow)] …………………………… [Longing (A child needing love someone to love her)]} Though she's not a bad character, when I think of her in terms of colour, I think of black.

| True, if you consider her essence, her colour is white. My associating black with her is completely illogical. | |

I was thinking about it some more, and I might associate black with her because of her mask. When I think of masks, I think black.

ECSS++ is the advanced, extended version of ECSSbasic, which is what you all are using right now. There is a lot more to it.

| I've updated the essence a bit, because of the changes that have occurred as I wrote her story. Here's the new one! Rosamund/Raven …Body {Eyes…… [Color (Obsidian) …………………………………… (Pools of water at night)] …………………….... [Depth (Night sky) ……………………………………. (Hopeful child) …………………………………… (Deep pools of water in a cave)] ……………………… [Sparkle (Newly cut diamonds) ……………………………………. (A cloudless sky)]} …Spirit {………… [Quality (Hidden treasure)] ……………………… [Aspects (A new, but poorly built structure)] ……………………… [Fear (A wounded doe)] ……………………… [Loyalty (A faithful friend)] .................... [Anger (A she-bear separated from her cubs ...............................(A convicted murderer intent on revenge) ...............................(A sudden wind storm)]} …Mind {…………………[Clarity (A slightly murky stream)] ……………………………..[Depth (A lightless underwater cave) ………………………………………... (A twisting maze)] ……………………………..[Knowledge (An innocent child) ………………………………….............. (A beginner musician) ………………………………….............. (A new martial artist)]} …Soul {………………… [Depth (A deep well) ………………………………………… (Space) ………………………………………… (Trees in the wind)] ……………………………. [Purity (A house broken by a tornado)] ……………………………. | Looks good, Raven. Just out of curiosity--are you ever going to post more on this story? I really liked it when I read it. Hopefully the fact that there's a new essence means that you're writing more. =D eruheran | |

| Now I see the power of essence mapping, even if this is the "basic level." I feel I know this character, though I have never read any portion of this story, yet. | |

I told you I'd put more on the HWRF, did I? Anyway, the complete first draft is now posted there (or it will be if Google Docs cooperates). I will not be posting any of the second draft, but if anyone wants to read it as I write it, they can PM me, and I'll send it to them at my discretion. The only catch is you have to do a small critique on it. Reiyen wrote: Now I see the power of essence mapping, even if this is the "basic level." | Pretty! I think black (or rather, a deep blue) fits her. Black is not always wicked - it is sophisticated, deep, and rich. I get the impression of a lovely, graceful, and faithful woman - but one that is, perhaps, naive or unstable.

I'm actually thinking a combination of black and red now, but perhaps I need a higher level to show that, like Jay said. Philadelphia wrote: I get the impression of a lovely, graceful, and faithful woman - but one that is, perhaps, naive or unstable. Good, Philli! Just add angry and bitter to that, and you've got it!
