Though she's not a bad character, when I think of her in terms of colour, I think of black.

True, if you consider her essence, her colour is white. My associating black with her is completely illogical. :D

If you associate black with her, then that is part of her essence. But you might need ECSS++ to show that. :)

What is ECSS++?

I was thinking about it some more, and I might associate black with her because of her mask. When I think of masks, I think black.

ECSS++ is the advanced, extended version of ECSSbasic, which is what you all are using right now. There is a lot more to it. :)

What on earth does programming have to do with essences, Jay?

The syntax of essence is based off of various markup and programming languages. But ECSS++ is an advanced essence mapping system, with many added features and capabilities.

Which in English means it's probably twice if not thrice as confusing ;)

I've updated the essence a bit, because of the changes that have occurred as I wrote her story. Here's the new one!

Looks good, Raven. Just out of curiosity--are you ever going to post more on this story? I really liked it when I read it. Hopefully the fact that there's a new essence means that you're writing more. =D

Now I see the power of essence mapping, even if this is the "basic level." I feel I know this character, though I have never read any portion of this story, yet.

Here you go--you must read this story (I'll just do some advertising for Raven since I really like her story):

I'm so sorry, Eruheran. I told you I'd put more on the HWRF, did I? :( Anyway, the complete first draft is now posted there (or it will be if Google Docs cooperates). I will not be posting any of the second draft, but if anyone wants to read it as I write it, they can PM me, and I'll send it to them at my discretion. The only catch is you have to do a small critique on it. :D

Pretty! I think black (or rather, a deep blue) fits her. Black is not always wicked - it is sophisticated, deep, and rich. I get the impression of a lovely, graceful, and faithful woman - but one that is, perhaps, naive or unstable.

Hmmm. I'm actually thinking a combination of black and red now, but perhaps I need a higher level to show that, like Jay said.

Good, Philli! Just add angry and bitter to that, and you've got it!
