So this is a creature I was struck with the other day. I was writing a scene in the villain's throne room and this little character hopped on out. Here's a brief idea of what they are:

They have four spider-like legs, glassy, but with hairs on the "thigh" area. [The way they connect to their body is really interesting, but I'm not sure how to describe it. A problem, I know. lol]

Their body is bark-like, brown, and protrudes in unnatural ways. Also, they have a hunched back.

Their arms are scaly and clawed. Brown-green.

Face is a mixture of dragonic and lizard characteristics, short neck, though.

They always carry a staff. But this staff does not touch the ground. If it ever does... well I'm not sure what happens. But it'd be bad.

They wield dark powers, ultimately crushed by good, of course. But essentially they don't show up much. When they do... it's not pretty.

So yeah, that's the Wa'rad. Hope you got a good enough idea of 'em from that. LOL

Are they independent or do they serve a particular master? How big are they? Man-sized? horse-sized? dog-sized? bigger? smaller? What kind of temperament do they have? Sorry if this is a lot of questions, they sound so interesting that I want to know all about them!

1. I don't know an awful much about them. So far it is my understanding that they serve a specific master, the King of Rindor. Whether this is unwavering fealty I'm not sure. They could be direct servants of the Evil One (cheesy right? LOL) or completely independent. They're horrifying enough to be independent lol and certainly smart enough.

2. About the height of a normal, slightly taller, man.

3. They're quiet...but I'm starting to think have great intimacy with spirits or maybe simply the Evil One. Their power is more sorcery-ish than the power of other manipulators and Servants of the Most High.

Sounds pretty awesome. If there is hair on the thigh area, is there no hair anywhere else?

Nope, no hair anywhere else. But the skin is pretty coarse.

So are they like Lizard men or something? (Sorry, found your physical rather confusing.)

Yeah, it is a kinda confusing description.

They're like spider-lizard-men. Bottom half being spider, head being lizard, and body almost... orc or ent like. They have knotted... rough skin.
