Now that I finally understand the basics of essence, I thought I'd try mapping one of my MCs for NaNo, Abby. I think this would be a freestyle map. But anyway, without further ado, here's my very first try at essence mapping. :)

Abby, 14 years old.

BODY
--Eyes
----Color
-------Like liquid dark chocolate
-------The dark wood on the back of a guitar.
----Depth
-------A deep pool
----- -Thoughtfulness of a scholar
--Hair
----Color
------Rich, nutritious soil
----Texture
-------Like the stuffing of a pillow
-------Thick meadow grasses
--Face
----Shape
------An upside down falling raindrop
----Complexion
------Black coffee with a hint of cream

MIND
--Knowledge
----Lust
------Like a child craving the love of his mother
------A fat boy wanting candy
----Amount
------A savings bank account slowly filling up
------A puddle turning into a lake when filled with rain.
--Turmoil
-----Like oil and water, refusing to be mixed
-----A broken necklace, beads scattered everywhere

SPIRIT
--Determination
-----A ocean tide always reaching for the rocks
-----A steadily burning fire
---Leadership
-----Winston Churchill
---Quest
------An injured bird trying to migrate north
--Caring
------A heart that can never be to full.
------Overflowing wine glass
--Bound
------A dog chained up
------An overworked slave

This is brilliant, Mae! And I love some of your descriptions so so much!

Some of them are so unusual, it makes it so interesting! Brilliant, well done! I can't believe it's a first try!

Thank you, Elanor! :dieshappy: I had fun with it! And I must confess, I stole some ideas from other essence maps. You can expect another essence map for my other MC soon! :D

I think having fun with them is important! :D I find essence maps quite hard. I'll look forward to another one!

The other one is up, Elanor! :D You'll notice some some similarities, and that is because Grace and Abby are twins. :)
