"Role Playing Questions & Answers". Pretty self-explanatory. Ask questions about the RP room, and we'll do our best to answer.

A few questions:

1. It won't let me post a new thread in the room. Is there a reason for that right now?

2. Can you move the following threads into here: Two Worlds and Five New Characters; Meet Victoria and Julliana. I can re-title them when you move them, or I can start anew. It would be preferable to have it moved, though.

3. Is it OK to have a thread for general interaction with characters in your world, whether it ends up being a quest/duel/etc., and centering around more than one character?

3. Yes - Threads you have must be centred around 1 specific goal. That one would be to focus on your characters.

Don't have time to do any of that right now, but I will after dinner. :D

Okay, I've stayed out of this section of the forum because I'm a little afraid of it...but here's a couple questions:

If I wanted to start a dual, are there any rules I should discuss beforehand, or at the beginning of the dual?

How do you keep a dual from resembling two six-year-olds gunfighting with cap guns, resulting in something like
Jimmy:"I got you, you're dead!"
Johnny:"No, I had a super-force field that deflects everything except Tabasco sauce!"
Jimmy: "But my bullets are made out of Tabasco sauce!"
Johnny:"I was just joking, it only deflects Tabasco sauce bullets!"
...Okay, I know that's an extreme case, but you know what I mean? How do I know if someone else hit me or not, or how do I decide? Or do I just decide Okay, I've managed to dodge them this many times, now it's time to get hurt...

Or do I just need to know my character really well, so that I know whether he could, say, have the reflexes to dodge a lightning bolt from three feet away? (Now that I think of it, this is probably what I'm supposed to do, but I'll still ask just for extra clarification if that's okay)

Anyway, sorry for all the dumb questions... :P

Oh, and a couple more, how do you find out if someone wants to dual with your character, do you just PM them asking if they want to, or am I missing a part of this forum where such actions are carried out?
And even though there's not a spot for it on the form provided at the beginning, I should describe the special abilities/powers my character has, right?

I'll try and help out a bit, Wolf.


Basically, when you talk in General Conversation you aren't allowed to duel there. So if two characters decide things are getting heated, and they want a duel, they go and start it in their own duel thread. However, if you want to practice duels, or you want a thread dedicated to duels, you can title your thread Eg. Lycanis Duels. That way people know that anyone can join in with the duel in that thread, so it's not just for two people; it's for anyone to come and duel with your character. Make sense? So the character they would be dueling with would be your thread title.

Before you start a thread, or start using a character, you should introduce your character to us in the Introductions thread. If you have been using one character, and start using another, you should introduce the new character to us in the Intro thread. If someone is coming to duel your character, they can then check the Intro thread to see what/who they are dueling with, what powers they have and so on. Thus there is no need for a form at the beginning of your thread.


I would suggest going to read some of the threads we already have open on duels. Hopefully this can give you an idea of what goes on in them,what takes place, and the kind of things that the characters do and say and so on. :)


You didn't ask any dumb questions. Feel free to ask away if you have any more. I hope I answered what you wanted to know up to now, but if you're still confused over something, please feel free to ask about it again.
