I'm currently stuck, and can't edit my story further without solving this problem. Well, I could, but I'd like to finish writing the story first.
So I'm going to ask y'all for help.

A Chaiden helped three Elves, and in return he asked that two of them travel back to his home with him. He told them that the king and his people needed their help.
Here's the problem... now that the two Elves are there, I need to think of what they are supposed to be doing.

Originally, I thought that maybe their could be a problem with the young Chaiden. Almost all of their race believe in God, so I was thinking that maybe the young Chaiden were rebelling in a way, and their hearts had hardened to the message. The Elves (one is a Christian, and I plan on the other being saved by the end of the story) could reignite the race's love for Christ.
The good thing about this is that the lost Elf could see the other Elf's faith and come to Christ. The thing that makes me wonder if this would even work is the fact that there are plenty of Chaiden that could somehow get the younger Chaiden to listen to them, and the Chaiden wouldn't normally listen to Elves anyway bcause of how they were treated in the past.

I was thinking today that because the Elves have healing powers, that they were needed to heal the king of some sort of illness. This could also be used to show God's power, because it would be because of Him that the Elf was able to heal the king, and the other Elf could learn of her faith then (one of the flaws of the main character is that she is afraid to share her faith with others) and come to Christ.

What do you think? Any comments? Or maybe other ideas, if these have too many flaws.

I like your second idea best. Hhhmm. Do the Elves have any other special skills? Something else that sets them apart from the Chaiden? Or, you hinted that there are hard feelings between the Elves and Chaiden, could he (the one who helps them) be trying to establish some good relationships between the two peoples?

I like that last idea there, Elestar.

Argh, I had a post typed out then the page messed up before it got posted.

To shorten what I had typed, I like that idea and I think it will work. I have an idea, it'll just take a little more thought to work out completely. But if the Elves stay with the Chaiden, it will convince the Chaiden that the Elves aren't evil. Now to figure out what to do about the Elves :P

And they are enemies because long ago the Elves took the Chaiden as slaves (there was a different king at that time... probably the same one that drove the Dark Elves from the Sylvan Realm). Though the Chaiden are usually fair and forgiving, they are bitter toward the Elves.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "unfallen".
They aren't a perfect people. They're capable of wrong just like any other race (for now... Lekaira isn't fully formed, so there may be other "people" that are very different).

I'm thinking I may need to start working on forming the world more, and writing a history of sorts.

You could, but it's not very likely. That could make a good story though :)

No one really bothers them, so it isn't very likely. The Men don't know any other races exist because they never venture beyond their small villages and castle town. The Elves leave them alone because the two groups are busy fighting each other. There would be a bit of trouble with the people living in Telslath Forest (I haven't worked on that culture yet, so I'm not positive what it's like... although I do know it's rather strange), but I don't think they would interact enough to cause a very large problem.

If anyone did decide to attack them, it would be hard to get near them, because unless they were on the northeastern side of the mountain (I know nothing of the land in that direction), they'd have to cross the river, and there's only one bridge across. Without going farther north than is practical, they couldn't just use boats or anything because the river is too swift. The river is cursed, so if you fall in you fall asleep, which causes your body temperature to fall and you end up freezing to death. It's possible to survive falling in, but unlikely.

Haha, that was probably more of an answer than necessary. I had fun explaining it though :D

I'm kind of losing interest in this story, though... and writing isn't much more than a hobby so I'm wondernig if I should continue editing. I might work again later, but I'm almost ready to just leave it for now. I want to start a couple more stories eventually, but I'm afraid I won't ever finish those either.
