OK gang, here's a challenge that will give yall a chance to help me out with an upcoming art endeavor. I want to make a series of graphics in which each piece depicts the essence of one of the Valar in Tolkien's Silmarillion. Now I could just sit down and do this on my own. But there are fourteen major Valar in the Silmarillion (Not doing Melkor/Morgoth) and that would take a lot of work. So... a challenge for yall. Make an essence map for one or more of the Valar drawn from Tolkien's description of them in the Silmarillion. I can't promise that I'll use your essence map, but a well-done map could be a great help for me on this project. Also, as a way to help promote the new system. Let's make this a challenge for FirstX or X+ maps only, instead of freestyle. You'll post your maps in the appropriate room (X+ Maps or FirstX Maps) instead of in this thread.

Look forward to seeing what yall come up with.

In Christ,
Jordan

Actually I started some essence maps for the Valar way back when you first posted this.
Have you done the graphics? If your graphics are as unfinished as my essence maps we could both dust off this old project and see what our subconscious minds have cooked up in three years...

Yeah... I never got the maps, so I never started the graphics.
Not sure how much time I could devote to this, but if you get the maps, I'd be more than willing to take a whack at them. :)

Wow. Now that would be a challenge. Or, perhaps not, since each one of them is closely associated a certain element that each metaphor could be used focused around. Ulmo would have a lot of ocean images, I think. Elbereth a lot of sky ones. Manwe would be for the birds. I'd try this if I actually had free time and brain-energy for it.
