Has anyone else made genealogy trees for their characters?

Specifically I'm interested in lines of succession for rulers. I can't quite figure out how to format it, and I was wondering if anyone else had done it and how.

(Does this go here or in culture? Or somewhere else altogether?)

Format it? Not sure how I'd answer that, but yes, I have genealogies for many of my MCs.

Formet: Are you talking about how I write it out? Or how I figure out how people are related and why?

Well, you could always do it this way. If you're desperate enough. ;)

Format as in, writing it down on paper is easy. Typing it up and keeping everything where it's supposed to be, not so easy. A nice, simple program would be nice, but I'll settle for less sophisticated methods of spacing and so forth. :P

Try a bubble map. You can make hierarchies of bubbles and draw lines to connect them any which way. :D Very easy and very adaptable and free-form.

I've used bubbl.us in the past. They've made some changes so I'm not sure how much of the service is still free, though.

The bubble maps work perfect! Thanks! And I can even export them as images. Nice. :D

You can have 3 maps at a time... Which means I will be saving maps as images once they are complete and make a new one in its place.
