I haven't used anything remotely similar to magic in my books up to this point (which really only classifies as one complete book and hundreds of started but never finished ones) until I got the idea for my Chevl'Set series.
I have a race with rather interesting super human ability (I suppose HWers call it cobha...). Their main ability would be the glowing orbs of different colors they can throw, but those give them other powers as well (I.E. Telepathy, levitation, mind control in certain situations). While I don't wish to call this power magic (Currently I am referring to it as "Luze" or "the power") since it comes from my God-like or Prophetical-like being, I don't see what else to call it.
I wouldn't mind having magic in my books. Personally, I find the idea of magic (without out the Harry Potter spell chanting please, people.) to be a rather interesting idea to use in certain story lines. Seeing as the current "magic" I am using is not really "magic", though...I was curious what it might be called.
What do you think of this idea? Is there a name I can label this that isn't "magic"?
