Hey! Just thought I'd explain how my world works. It's kind of complicated, so bear with me. :D It's a partial allegory, which means it's parallel to the Creation account up to a point, then I just kind of started throwing my zany ideas in just for fun.
In the beginning, Quintor created _________(searching for a name). He shaped the plants and animals, mountains and valleys, lakes and rivers with a word. When He had finished, He created people to live there and bring Him glory. Six races now populated _________: The Humans, the Elves, the Tulirans,(TOOL-ih-rans) the Raechal,(RAY-kal) the Haethor,(HAY-tor) and the Nanivis.(na-KNEE-vee)
Before the world and the races were created, Quintor made the Guardians. They were beings with special powers to help and protect the world He intended to create. They can take on the form of any of the six races or even an animal.
When the head of the Guardians saw everything Quintor had created, he grew jealous and persuaded a third of the Guardians to join him in a rebellion. Quintor cast Cae'ach, the traitor, down to ______. When He saw the havoc (I love that word ;) ) Cae'ach caused, He gave the people magic to defend themselves.
To the Humans, He gave magical gifts. (invisibility, etc.) To the Elves, He gave agility, speed, skill with weapons, and heightened senses. To the Tulirans, He gave the ability to control the spirits of trees. To the Raechal, He gave mastery over all animals, especially horses. To the Haethor, He gave skill with forging metal and working stone, and to the Nanivis He gave skill with building and navigating ships, and sometimes to control the weather. And to those who discovered the power of Dragons, the mightiest of all created creatures, He gave the greatest powers of all: Mental telepathy with other riders and sometimes with other dragons, access to the hidden world of magic, including difficult healing spells, and others.
But . . .
Cae'ach seduced the people with offers of greater power. If all the people had stayed true to Quintor, perhaps the Treacherous could have been defeated. As it is, a great and sometimes unseen war is going on, and will until the end of time: a war for domination of the world.

Well, there it is. For more info on the races, see the topics I will be submitting soon in Peoples, Races and Tribes. Names are subject to change.

Ah, I see that we both have six races. :D

Nice job! I love it! I especially liked how Quintor gave gifts to each race. Great idea. :D

My only thought was on the whole "war for domination of the world" thing. I don't know much about spiritual warfare, but here's what I thought when I read that part. Is it actually a war for domination? If Quintor is really God, wouldn't He have total control? Then, the war might be more of a war between good and evil. The good side (Quintor's side) is fighting to keep the evil side (Cae'ach's side) from destroying or taking over the races. Maybe that's what you meant, or maybe I'm just wrong. (Most likely the latter.) :D

Anyway, very good job! I'd like to hear more about the culture of the different races.

Yes, if I understand you right, that's what I meant, I think. *ponders for a moment* I'm so thick-headed . . . anyway, it was poetic, so I thought I'd throw it in there. It sounds like something from a movie trailer. lol Yes, Quintor does keep everything in check, He is completely in control and nothing ever happens that is not because He allowed it. There has been a Fall, but no Christ yet.

A little twist: Not all the people fell into Cae'ach's trap. Some of the people from each race remained pure, and Cae'ach killed all of those he could find. Only two each of the six races remained. It is said that they were kings and queens of the races, favored and protected by Quintor. From those was descended the line of the Faithful: each marked by a small white mark in the shape of a six-pointed star on their right forearm. But though these people were powerful and less prone to fall, all did eventually succumb to the temptation. Yet these were allowed to keep most of their former power, as a reward for resisting longer than the others.
Another twist: Some of the people who had betrayed Quintor recognized the wrong they were doing and cried to Him for forgiveness. Most of the people of today are descended from these, less powerful than the Faithful but retaining their original skills.
The ones that did not repent are nearly all evil, twisted almost beyond recognition. Yet Quintor's open arms wait for them, if they would but forsake their ways, bow their proud heads, and receive his forgiveness.

So, as a result, there are three basic classes of people:
The Faithful, the Fallen, and the Something . . . I need an F word there.

So what do Tulirans, Raechal, Haethor and Nanvis look like?

I've actually posted previously about the Tulirans and the Raechal in People, Races and Tribes. I'll start posts about the other two soon, but basically, the Haethor are large and broad-shouldered, with silver eyes. They have medium-tone skin.
Nanivis have darker skin than Humans but lighter than Tulirans, and it is cold and feels like a fish's scales. They have fish-like eyes. Their build is the shortest of the six races in general, ranging from four to five and a half feet.

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis

Quite a few interesting ideas here :D

I like how God gave each race magical powers to defend themselves. I'll be browsing your other threads to post on-topic.
