I've never done an essence map before so please understand this is from a true novice. I haven't quite got my head around it all yet, so I decided to try this out and see what you think of it. I haven't added all the <> marks as I haven't worked out what they are yet! It is unfinished.

Anyway, here goes:

Marita's Character

Deep

…............................[vast ocean]

….......................[endless thought]

…...................[power]

….................Shy

….....................[lilly of the valley]

….........................[forest deer]

….....................[grey]

loyal

…............[rising of the sun]

…................[Mother and child]

…..................[wedding rings]

Body

..............[Slender rose]

Eyes

......[clear skies]

.............[endless wisdom]

Colour

....[Lavender]

..........[Lupines]

That's a lovely essence map, Elanor. :D All of your metaphors were beautiful, though I especially liked the ones under "loyal" and "shy". Keep up the good work. :)
