Aside from that, I just want to note that your races are original...but at the same time, I think that the modern culture influence is still coming through a tiny bit to much. (I'm not saying it's bad, it's just a bit too much.)

You may want to work on development of the shape shifters more. The Fey and Shades are really good, but the shifters don't really have any unique twist on them. Keep thinking hard.

Okay, I see. Although, I’m trying to figure out why you called your characters Shades? They don’t really resemble the Shades in old folklore. What made you choose this name for them?

Hmm, you say they Fey can manipulate genetically, what do you mean by that? If they alter genes, that would changes abilities, or did you mean more molecular or cellular?

Okay, that makes sense.

I think your shapeshifters should be different enough from Stephanie Meyer's since she added some very original touches to hers. Her story of the origins of werewolves is quite different from any other that I've seen. Basically, the Quileute warriors could originally make there spirits leave their bodies and fight enemies by calling animals to fight for them. One chief gets trapped out of his body, so he enters into the body of a great wolf and at one point in a great human rage the wolf shapeshifts into a human and his descendants afterwards were able to shapeshift into wolves (very boiled down synopsis). I think your wolves should be safe from over-resembling hers, but you do want to put in enough work that they don't look like everyone else' werewolves (which, along with vamps, have been on the rise even before Twilight).

The idea of fantasy races blending in with contemporary humans is quite fascinating, as is a race that inspired legends of ghosts.

Okay Inesdar, so I was thinking about your Werewolves, and I stumbled upon a concept that I hadn’t heard before and found to be utterly amazing.

Okay, background. People through history have believed werewolves to be true (everyone can do what they like with that). However, I was curious about how they scientifically thought that was possible. Come to find out, there is somewhat interesting concept concerning how werewolves came into existence, although I’m thinking scientifically it is still bogus and follows a very Darwinian approach to life. But no matter, this is still interesting.

So, the concept is that when people come under severe emotional and physical stress they begin to exhibit irritability and shortness (not in height, but in speech). Their emotions begin to become unruly and out of control. These people then begin to believe they are having animal tendencies. They develop dry skin as they seclude themselves and begin to believe they are turning into werewolves. Because of how powerful the brain is they basically begin to evolve into this mutated beast like human…

I thought it was interesting. I don’t think it is really possible, but I thought I would bring it up. Maybe it will spark something in your imagination.

That's kinda creepy. But it would make for an interesting story.

Inesdar, you are brilliant. The insane kind of brilliant. I laughed so hard over the thing about werewolves who understand the concept of shirts... brilliant!!

Anyway, what are you going to do with these races? I love the names and the concepts. I've never been big on werewolves, but if they wear shirts I think I'd be a little more tolerant than otherwise.

On the subject of the Fey, I'm still confused about they're powers. Do they change people into other things or give them cancer or what?

On the subject of werebeasts, your dragons sound awesome. I'm totally not expecting you to do this but I'll say it anyway. Please don't make your werewolves pedophiles.
