Okay, here it is! It's shorter then before, as I took off the stuff that only applied if I was starting it as a stand-alone, so this is for book 1. The line indicates the things above it need to be done before starting, and the things below it can be done a bit later. Bolded items have already been done. :D

    Snowflake Novel
    Write Current History
Fractal Azlyn [I have a character named that]
    Azlyn's Questionnaire
    Fractal Elias
    Elias' Questionnaire
    Velite Culture
    Azeoran Culture
    ---------------
    Kiamir Culture
    Fractal Syargen
    Fractal Tavion
    Tavion's Questionnaire
    Arien Culture
    Fractal Jenimi
    Jen's Questionnaire

I'm making good progress on the snowflaking, and started Azeoran culture today. Hopefully soon I can start the history!

*prints out Azlyn's list on nice paper, decorates it with sparkly stickers, and sticks it to her (Azlyn's) desk with a nice cupcake magnet* That is a fine list, my dear. Keep working! ^_^

Last night I finished step five of snowflaking, and I can skip step seven because I am doing fractals. :D

I got a start on the scene spreadsheet today! :D It's slow going, though, but working. I mainly need to stop worrying about if it'll be moving too fast and things. :P I got part 1 of current history done, and will do more tomorrow. Azeoran culture... Slightly bleh, but it's working.

I usually write a scene/beat spreadsheet also, and I've found that it seems to take longer than you think it will. It's harder than it looks. ;) You have to think through the entire scene in your mind, deciding where it starts and ends, what the content/point is, contemplate whether or not you'll need an additional scene from another character's POV to make it work... etc. It involves a lot of thinking and copying & pasting scenes in new orders. ;) But I've found it's worth the effort because I already have at least a basic idea of the plot of each scene. This especially helps me since I write out of order. :)

Yeah, spreadsheets are hard!

For that reason... I don't think I'm going to make it. :P Not all the way. But I will reward myself with writing the prologue on my birthday. ^_^

Well, I think I'm getting close to having the worldbuilding I need. I have approximately four things left to hash out. But I'll probably manage to think of things that might be useful all the way up to the start date. :)

Other than that, I have a little bit of pre-writing character development to do, as well as finishing outlining. I plunked what I have into a blank outline today to find that I have exactly half the plot already, including the beginning, climax, and most of the end.

However, thinking about titles and such has made me realize that I need to figure out more about the other two books in the trilogy so that they can mesh nicely. The second one is quite detailed in my head already, but the third is only the beginning of an idea, and I need to figure it out further before I can begin writing the first book.

Well, I have a title for the project previously known as the Secret Project. It's called Dream of a Shrouded Quest, and I have a paragraph of dialogue written, and pages and pages of pre-story development.

Well, I am back, and ready to make goals again. Please oh please, Lord, let me not have my world crumble around me and keep me from writing. I hate that. :P

Anyways. Since June is almost over, I am setting July aside to finish my illustration mock ups and submit my children's book to agents, marketing myself as both illustrator, and author.

Then August will be me charging head on back into the last book of my trilogy. :)

Wow. Those are wonderful, challenging, and exciting goals, Airianna. I shall be eagerly waiting close at hand for future updates. And... I really, really understand what you mean by the first paragraph. If you have time to read it, this might encourage you at least a teeny bit: http://www.aubreyhansen.com/2012/06/tea ... o-fly.html

*nods * Thanks, Aubrey. I read it just now and I know where you are coming from. There is a reason why I am not a deadline crazy person. Once upon a time I focused too much on deadlines and schedules. And not just with writing, but with my life. I learned A Lot through many different situations, and I feel so much happier as a person, and as a writer, with a focus more on my story, and the people around me, than the schedules and deadlines.

It's a hard lesson, though....

Amen. I was hoping you would enjoy it, since we've had similar struggles with God saying "Look, I need you to do something else than write right now." :)

I have finally compiled my Agent list. I've been doing it for a while, but I finished up after a few hours of work and research last night. I have come up with 26 agents to query, 16 of whom I am most excited about. So I feel off to a good start, and will hopefully send our queries and mock ups before too long. :D

Mwah ha! I am ahead of schedule. My query letter is almost complete. Once it is done, I hope to query all my agents (tonight?).

Wish me God speed!

Woohoo! I'm so happy you got those queries done! :dieshappy:

As for my novel goals... It's kind of on hold until I get home. Once I return, I will Finish my planning, and then go hard on it. :D At the moment, I've written the prologue and part of the first scene.

So, since I finished my last goal early, and have begun work on my trilogy again, I feel I need to set a new goal.

So, I plan on finishing chapter three and writing all of chapter 4 (which will equate out to about 14,000 words written, if I combine the two chaptersl) by the end of August, which will put me at 1/5th of the way through my book!

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Not setting your goals too high is an important skill, one some of us don't have. Ahem.

I'm so glad both of you are working on your books again! :D

Hey everyone! I know I haven't been around much lately, but I've finally set a new novel goal, so I thought I'd pop in. My new goal is to finish the revision of my next novel Never by August fifteenth. :)

Today I wrote for nearly seven hours straight, and finished making notes on the Never revisions. :D Tomorrow I'll start rewriting it. Don't know if I can do it by the deadline, but I'm sure going to try!
