Azlyn's continual plugging of the system has convinced me to try snowflaking Beorn. I look forward to seeing what happens.

Oooooh! Cool! I wasn't fully aware of doing that, but I am glad it helped! Even though I have not gotten that far into developing it yet, it's becoming much more structured already.
 My main problem being that 1/2 to 7/8 of my plot is nonexistant, any more structure would be extremely helpful. ;)

I sent Firmament to my uncle, and I also fixed the sector numbers. I'm now doing a little more tweaking and line editing before I format for ebook. I also got an ISBN. :)

I am currently working on Draft Two of my novel, Penalty, and so far it is going fairly well. :D The newer text is quite a bit better than the First Draft's text. :D I might be able to get this draft done in a couple weeks.

Update on my progress with Peter's Angel! I've been working on it for the past two months or so, and now I have 11 scenes left to write. That's one for each writing day left in May (I don't write on Sundays). So I am on track to finish by the end of the month. Hold me to it!

Yay, Philie! :D

I have an update for you guys as well. I finally have a logline for the whole trilogy (I decided to break it into more manageable chunks for the first draft, anyway). I'm taking a notebook and will be working on the 1-paragraph summary of book 1 while I am gone for the weekend. :D

WORKING TITLE: Curse of the Kingdoms
GENRE: Fantasy
LOGLINE: An adventurous teen must accept her gift of magic to help a desperate prince as he must kill his brother to break the spell.

I like this, Zlynny. Can't wait to hear more about it. :D

My own updates: I'm about 40,000 words away from finished Above the Gray Skies. It keeps getting bigger. -.- I don't think it'll expand more, though, so hopefully I'll be done with it in two or three months. I hope to write 500 words a day in it, 1000 words a day for TGOTS, and 500 words a day in False Gods, on average.

I'll check back here next week to let y'all know how I'm doing. ;)

Plotting: I'm working on a 1 paragraph summary of Book 1, and it's going alright.

Characters: I'm making good progress on Elias (formerly Ezli)'s fractal, and am working on a essence map for him.

World-Building: I have a new thread up! :D Dancing.

*should update*

TMB is out to one critiquerLove you, Airi!, and I need to get in contact with the other...

As for my fantasy novel, I've been doing worldbuilding, mostly culture for the two countries, as well as detailed country maps and royalty family trees. I'm not sure how much I have left; I keep thinking that it would be a good idea to figure out such-and-such before I begin. I have a bunch of characters named, and I'm going to begin figuring out who they are today. I have plot filler swirling around in my brain, but nothing definite yet. Maybe the characters will help me....

I may have to change my plans for starting my novel... Because last night I went from having zero plans on my birthday except starting this to going out to visit Bethany/Adalia on that day, flight booked, in under an hour. o.O That might interfere with noveling...

So now I have three, no four, options:

1) Start the novel sooner. 2) Start it later. 3) Take a notebook and write in the 3 hour plane trip. 4) Buy a laptop before leaving, take that and write on the plane.

Right now I am leaning towards 3 or 4...

Oh, and I finished my (way too long  ) 1 paragraph summary. I'll rewrite it a bit and try to trim it down (How on earth does one do it in 6 sentences like what it says about snowflaking?!).

Last but not least, I've joined the Camp NaNoWriMos for June. I fully expect to not get the 50k, but it will motivate me. :D I'm just going to count anything I write in world-building, plotting, etc. Should be fun! :D

Sounds like a plan to me, Mae. ^_^

I would go with 3 or 4 also. Having purchased a laptop (netbook, to be precise) myself, I would recommend that route if you think it would be a worthy investment. I get a ton of use out of my netbook - it's great to have a "just mine" internet computer at home, and I use it a lot on car trips. It also has a decent mic so I've been able to do podcast interviews and such. So it was a very worthy investment for me. If you think you'll get enough use out of it to make it worth it, go for it. Be sure to look into battery life if you plan to use it on the road a lot. (That's why I love my netbook - great battery life.)

That's what I'm thinking. :D I'm actually looking at laptops right now, so we'll see how it goes!

My current laptop has the possibility of dying at any random point... So I think it will be worth it to get something I can trust. And yes, battery life is something important. Though whatever I get, it will be better then my current brute. :P Battery life: 20-45 minutes without a charger, and zero portability, since the screen hinge has issues it sits on a wooden brace to hold the screen up. :P

If it's about people who are doing it this year, you can move it to Quests. Or start a new one specifically for this month's participants. :)

I set this goal about a week ago, but so that people on here can poke me about it, I'll post it here. :)

I need to get Penalty edited, formatted, and published by JUNE 20TH.

^_^

You should do a thread for both June and August campers. :D I won't be able to do it because of the timing, it seems. I'll be revising/publishing Peter's Angel during those periods.

Speaking of which, I'm not going to get Peter's Angel finished today, since I ran into a horrible wall over the weekend and had to revise a section. I am aiming for sending it out next weekend at current.

Progress is moving faster than I anticipated. I have a possible working title and logline for what I used to call the Secret Project 001. I'm trying to work through The Writer's Compass and its many very good questions. I'm going to keep working through it.

Progress is moving faster than I anticipated. I have a possible working title and logline for what I used to call the Secret Project 001. I'm trying to work through The Writer's Compass and its many very good questions. I'm going to keep working through it.

Sounds great, Varon! Keep up the good work!

I set this goal about a week ago, but so that people on here can poke me about it, I'll post it here. :)

I need to get Penalty edited, formatted, and published by JUNE 20TH.

*Will remember to poke Jay about this* :D

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)
