I have a few characters who get Elven names at the end of the novel as a sort of honor. But other than that, most of my characters only have one name.

To maintain some level of believability and consistency within my world, I do use multiple names, mostly the version the elves use and the version men use. I don't do this extensively, but I can think of a few examples of location names and even my antagonist's name, being Vaulrod to men and Karuld to the elves.

And too many half-started ideas to count

Most of my problems with mulitple names, I've managed to fix...

But this year's NaNo has characters with long names and what we forum-users call 'usernames'. People have begun naming their kids after themselves to preserve the family line and to remember where they came from before the story began.

So a couple generations might go something like this: Peter Skye, father of Jerome Peter Skye who is married to Silvi Ain Lieshellyk, parents of Heron Jerome Lieshellyk Skye. It's a mouthful.
