The naiads are the water people.

The naiads’ eyes are usually blue, green or purple. They are large, round and have usual depth. Their noses are long, rounded and slightly turned up, while their mouths are extremely small and full. The naiads' faces are round and softly blended. Their small ears stick out slightly from their head, and are human-like. The females’ hair falls to their ankles, while the males’ is slightly long, but not inappropriately so. Their hair is usually blond, but is sometimes a pale, seaweedy green. The naiads' bodies are on the short side and slim. They have pale complexions

The female naiads’ clothing is made out of wispy blue, purple and green fabric. It is comprised of a loose fitting dress, loosely belted at the waist. The males’ clothing is also blue, purple, or green, but is a somewhat heavier fabric. It is comprised of a tunic and pants.

The naiads’ speech is fluid, and somewhat disjointed. They like to talk, and their voices are in between harsh and soft.. Their movements are fluid.

Naiads can be obsessive, and do not easily feel for others. They are usually patient.

Naiads like wet and cool, blue, green and purple. They have a weakness for boats. They dislike warmth, dryness and round objects. They also don’t like yellow, orange and red objects.

Sapphires and light are beneficial for their health. However, earth and emeralds can be damaging and/or lethal.

Naiads can be subdivided into four sub-races: ocean, lake, river and fountain. I won’t get into them now, but if you’re interested…maybe in the future!

The things I have outlined here are what is usually the case. It is possible for naiads to differ from this description. Those who do are either shunned or adored, depending on the case. If you have any questions about why I made them a certain way, ask away! It will help me to solidify them

This is the most interesting part of your article, what are the implications? ;)

By your wink, I have a hunch that you're trying to get at something and/or point out a flaw, but I don't see it. :)

Do they actually live in the water or do they live on land? If they live on land, can they breath underwater? Do they usually lean towards evil or good? If the live on land, wouldn't they be perpetually hurt by the earth? Would a sapphire or an emerald have more sway over them? It would be cool if you could control them by using a sapphire or emerald.

They live in the water, and are a part of the water. Ever seen Prince Caspian? They are like the water guy in there, except they are more like normal(ish) looking people.

All my races, with the exception of the Destroying Races, are good.

Emeralds would have a little more sway over them. Naiads around emeralds are kind of like Superman around krypton, except the gem needs to be actually touching them and/or embedded in their skin. For instance, the naiad's enemies would use arrows and swords with emeralds on the heads and blades. They would basically take the sapphires like medicine.

Okay, thanks. That makes sense that they would be a part of water.
