Here's another one of my tribes of felines. (I need more canines).

The Ananthi are a type of large cat. Physically they are small, slender, not very strong but very swift and agile. They normally have mahogany fur with gold and black stripes. Their eyes are huge, almond shaped, and gold colored.

This is a desert tribe. They originated in the northern deserts, and are nomadic. Commonly called Assassin cats, they are well known for poisons, assassins, spies, and rumored to be magical.

Their attitudes are without warmth or semblence of feeling, early on in their lives Ananthi are trained to ignore their feelings or bury them deep, so they can't interfere with murder or assassination. This makes them one of the most feared creatures in my world.

Other than that, they can blend in with just about anything, and are masters of disguise. Stealthiness is also a big thing with the tribe; one of these felines could be right next to someone without that person noticing them.

I hope my writing has clarified since describing my snow leopards. That post was a little sketchy. ;)

This is so cool and creative! And, yes, the Ananthi definitely sound like cats. I love the way you made them assassins (which are cool to begin with). Your creativity is amazing! Keep it up!

Magical Assassins and Spies... that is so cool!

Are they generally (or always) evil?

Generally they are evil, at least they are in the first book I'm writing. However, I'm already thinking ahead to the third, and there might be a good character in there; who is half Ananthi. i haven't figured it out yet. :D

I'm glad people like these felines; I had tons of fun creating them!

Very nice! Are there ever any good Ananthi? What do you mean by magical?

Umm, not sure yet. I know that the half Ananthi in my third book is good, but in general, they are pretty evil. Enemies of Ilarians, as a matter of fact. The magic is really legendary, just a myth, but they are said to be able to disappear (which any good assassin should do), be able to teleport, mind read, send dreams, or other things, I haven't decided on that sort of thing yet.

Hi Inesdar, glad to know you're back. My story world is populated by animals, most of which do people things (like the assassins). My primary characters are snow leopards (I wrote a post on that but it wasn't informative). My world is icy and covered and snow, filled with mountains for the most part. What about yours?

Thanks for the encouraging response, everyone! :D

For the most part, they stand erect and walk on two feet, although when they are actually working, they can drop to all fours because they are even more stealthy that way. Always, they have this sinuous, sinister grace with adds to their legendary reputation.

It gets worse when one of them goes insane in my story, because then they go completely mentally berserk, but they are still calm, cool, and calculating. They just become wild animals (literally) and kill everyone they come into contact with. Kind of like rabies.

I know no post up there had anything to do with the insane temperment of an Ananthi, but I just wanted to add that. ;)

Lol. I have a place for an insane Ananthi. She meets a good end though. I'm excited!

Thanks for the appreciation. These assassins are kind of sterotypical, but I don't really care. :) ;)
