This is the first draft for the early history of my world. (I wrote it at 10pm last night, just to let you know. :D)

At the dawn of time, the Great Master formed the earth out of nothing. He created the land, water, animals and plants. Then he created his most beloved work: humans. He formed Silvanis, the first man, and Adisa, the first woman, out of the dust of the ground. He made the two people rulers over all the earth. He set a beautiful, silver stone in the middle of their land as a test. He told Silvanis and Adisa not to take the stone and look into it, for if they did, catastrophe would befall them. The Great Master had given them many other wonders to discover and this stone was a test. They failed
A fallen angel of the Master, Dragan, came to the man and woman and tempted them to take the stone and look into it. They took it. Immediately, they felt the effects of sin befall them. Catastrophe had struck. They now felt hate, greed, lust, fear, envy and other strange emotions that they had never felt before. The Great Master knew of their disobedience and punished them by taking away the paradise in which they had lived. Thorns now grew from the ground, they had to kill animals to eat and sin became real. They and their descendants were doomed to live with the consequences of their disobedience. But the Great Master had a plan; he promised a plan of redemption.
Silvanis and Adisa had eight sons and many daughters. But one day, Urick, the eldest son, was jealous of his younger brother, Kalluk, and killed him in a fit of anger. As a result, Urick was banished from his parents and siblings, taking with him only his wife and children. (NOTE: there is no record of what happened to Urick. Some say that he and his family perished, others say that he left the land and sailed to a new country.) The six other sons of Silvanis were angered that their young brother had been killed and began to fight among themselves. They finally decided that it would be best to separate, and so each of the remaining six sons took his family and claimed an area of land, where they began a new nation.
Each nation was given dominion over one of the powerful beasts that the Master had created. These creatures were majestic and beautiful, with intelligence to match that of the humans. The men were commanded to follow the Great Master's commandments. Only one tribe did, the Havanian nation who lived in the northern mountains. To these people the Great Master gave the ability to master all six of the beasts, not just their own. He also blessed them and made them rule over the other nations. (NOTE: the gift to master all six beasts was given to very few people; only the Havanians most faithful to their Creator were given this gift. All Havanians can master at least one of the animals, some two or three, but the Master is the only one who can give a person the power to master all six. It is impossible for anyone to do it without Him.)

~•†•~

NOTE: most of the human names are placeholders. I'm going to change them as I find better ones. And the name of God, Great Master, will be translated into the language that I am writing. (Yes, most of this was a allegory on the Creation story.)

Very good allegory (in a sort). Much like mine. Most worlds need to be at least somewhat similar to our world in its creation, no matter how fantasy it is.

Thank you, Sir Emeth. I agree, you need a Creation story, and unless the inhabitants are perfect or were created sinful, you need a Fall. After this, though, the story will branch off and become more original. (Well, at least not so much like the OT.)

I like it. Neat 'dominion over the animals' thing. ;) I can see a lot of possibilities in that.

Thanks. I'm still working on the logistics of it, such as who has total control, who doesn't, if the other nations still retain any control, etc.

Oh, if anyone has any ideas for more beasts, I need three more. So far I have unicorns, dragons and griffins...

Well, if you're going to go with those kind of creatures, you could search Wikipedia for mythical creatures, etc. How about an animal that has something to do with water?

Might get some ideas from this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_legendary_creatures

I admit, some of the things there are a little freaky, but for the sake of inspiration...

Thanks, Lady Eruwaedhiel. Wow, that's a daunting list but I think it will help me greatly! And I like your idea of a water-creature...

Thanks! :D

Mods,
Since I have need to change a few major details, this thread can be locked or removed while I work on the next draft.

Thanks. :D

PS: Thanks for the idea for a water creature, Lady Eruwaedhiel, I'm working on one and will soon post about it in the creatures section.
