Rynx: *Paces the room* Come and face me, human. Dole out your anger.

Michael: *appears in room* I'd like my gear now.

Me: *tosses Michael his scabbard* You can keep the dagger you hid from me.

Michael: I didn't ask for permission.

Me: Anything else you'd like?

Michael: I'm good for now. Stick around though, armor boy.

Me: Yeah, right. We'll see if you survive long enough to give me another order.

Michael: *draws sword* Time to die, demon. *falls into a practiced stance and takes a few steps toward Rynx*

Rynx: Your death will be painful, human. Are you ready? *Springs forward, long teeth bared.*

Me: I've never had a demon battle someone before. Should be interesting.

Me: Should be interesting indeed.

Michael: Are you? *sidesteps and swings sword diagonally upward at the passing demon*

Rynx: Of course. Would I be dueling if I wasn't? *Fur hardens and he bounces off the sword, skidding on the grass*

Me: Yes.

Rynx: Why can't I have an actual demon form?!

Me: Hey, I'm giving you Tynx's powers for this. Use your imagination.

Rynx: I- oh. But, don't I need a reference?

Me: Use your mind, silly.

Michael: *smiles as he advances toward Rynx, sword at the ready* Come on, silly demon. Let's see how long before my blade pierces that thick hide of yours. *makes quick jab for the side of Rynx's face*

Me: Well, maybe he's starting to think again. We'll see how long that lasts.

Rynx: Wll you, indeed? *Flinches back when the sword stabs his cheek* *Fires a dark ball of energy at Michael* Die, human!!!!

Me: If magical-ness would be preferred to be not allowed, lemme know.

Me: No, go ahead. Besides, I'm kinda looking forward to a spectacular death.

Michael: Well, that didn't take long. *jerks sideways* *only barely escapes the ball's path, but in order to get out of the way in time loses his balance and stumbles backwards*

Me: Sorry.

Rynx: You should be! Neglecting me and all! *Springs at Michael's sword arm, teeth bared.*

Me: No problem. I was too busy to pay attention to this for a few days anyway.

Michael: *lets his stumbling momentum carry him back and to the left a bit farther, and manages to bring his left fist up to box the side of Rynx's head* *grunts as he makes contact with Rynx*

Me: You're really hanging on by the skin of your teeth, aren't you? At this rate you're about to lose some of your skin too.

Michael: Shut up!

Me: FYI, once the 26th (or some date close to that) arrives, I will almost drop off the face of the Internet, and most people probably won't see me again for a few months (barring certain especial circumstances). By extension, Michael won't be able to do anything here until I get back (as much as he would like to think otherwise).

Rynx: *Goes spinning like a frisbee, but lands on his feet* *Shifts into a gorilla and charges Michael* You will die, mortal.

Me: Hate to break it to you, bud, but you're not exactly immortal.

Rynx: *Sniffs* I, madam, am about as immortal as they come.

'Tis fine.

Michael: I could use my bow right now.

Me: Unh-uh. Besides, you wouldn't notch an arrow fast enough.

Michael: Grr, what I wouldn't give to be in a forest-- wait...

Me: Can you even do that?

Michael: Sure I can. *calmly turns his back to the gorilla and crouches down low, then at the last moment springs up into the air, backflipping above the gorilla and blindly swinging the sword behind his back to strike where he believes Rynx to be*

Rynx: *Snarls in pain as the sword cuts him. Whirls and grabs at Michael's foot to yank him down*

Me: They get along so well.

Me: Indeed.

Michael: Ahh-! *hits ground hard and sword clatters out of his hand*
*with his other hand, reaches down for his boot that isn't being held and grasps his dagger, which he quickly uses in an attempt to stab the gorilla's hand*

Rynx: *Howls in pain and thrusts Michael aside* *Shifts into a polar bear and prowls toward Michael, circling him*

Me: You're boring.

Rynx: You have a boring imagination.

Michael: *is thrust to the side and rolls right up to his sword*
*picks self up and retrieves sword* He's also an idiot.

Me: Well, I will admit that wasn't one of Rynx's brightest moments...

Michael: *keeps his eyes on Rynx as he leans on his sword for a moment, his breathing a bit labored* I wonder how much longer it will take to kill you.

Rynx: I'm a demon, boy. It takes a lot to kill me. The last people that tried ended up just banishing me to a rock. And we know how well that went.

Me: Um, no, they don't. And neither do you, really.

Rynx: *Snarls and jumps at Michael. Shifts at the last second into a scorpion.*

Me: Been a while.

Michael: And I'm getting bored. *kicks sword into the air and brings it around to make a two-handed diagonal slash upward, aiming for the polar bear's shoulder and giving him momentum to back away from the polar bear's lunge to the side* Wha--? *taken off guard by the shift to scorpion and sword slash becomes off target*

Me: *smirk*

Me: It has.

Rynx: Nice try. *Shifts into a slim cobra, mouth opened wide, baring poisonous fangs toward Michael's face*

Michael: Thank you. *reverses sword slash and brings pommel down toward the snake's head*

Me: You're a sorry excuse for a demon, Rynx.

Rynx: *Takes a dive toward Michael's leg*

Me: *takes cue* And you're a sorry excuse for a human, Michael.

Michael: Oh really?
*shifts wrist so that the sword sweeps down and shifts his leg back half a foot*

Me: Uh... Michael? I don't think you moved it far enough...

Me: Naw, Michael's cool. He annoys Rynx.

Rynx: *Whips himself away from the sword, but gets cut. Whirls around quickly and clamps on his leg* You're bad at taking supposed cues.

Me: You don't even know of they are, so shoosh.

Me: Well there is that.

Michael: Arrgh!

Me: Now would be where I say, "I told you so."

Michael: *raises his sword in a blind rage and brings the pommel down towards the snake's neck as hard as he can*

Rynx: *Hisses in pain and recoils.* *Shifts into his fox form and lunges at Michael's leg again*

Me: They get on so well.

Me: Yes.

Michael: You will not best me, demon. *drops to one knee, takes sword in one hand, bracing for impact, and withdraws dagger from his boot with the his other hand*

Rynx: I've killed greater swordsmen than you, mortal. *Fur stiffens into sharp needle-points as he dives for Michael's leg and claws at it viciously*

Michael: Arrgh! *lifts sword and flips it around in his hand despite the pain, before bringing the point down on Rynx's back as hard as he can*

Rynx: *Smirks* Nice try, boy. *Whips around just as the point comes down, but his tail is pierced. He snarls and rips it free* You will die. *Jumps at Michael's face.*

If he's being too invincible or anything, let me know.

Michael: Maybe, but I'll take you with me. *brings the dagger in his other hand up to meet where he expects Rynx's belly to be, just before Rynx connects with Michael's face*

Me: No, it's not about the fight being fair, only realistic. I've known Michael is probably outmatched. It was a long shot that he'd win this and at this point best-case (for Michael) unlikely scenario is probably that both die.

Rynx: *Howls in pain, claws viciously at Michael's face, then pushes away to the ground, collapsing* I will you kill you, mortal! *Staggers to his feet shakily*

I think you lose, buddy... Let me know if that doesn't work.

Michael: *collapses back onto the ground when Rynx pushes off of him and lies there, breathing heavily* I'd li-- *coughs and spits out some blood* I'd like to see... you try...

Me: Michael, you're a mess. Blood pouring from your face, assorted other wounds, your ankle is probably wrenched-- not to mention the poison in your veins that is probably about to kill you.

Michael: *musters just enough strength to throw his dagger at Rynx*

Me:

Poison?

Rynx: And so you sha- *Mouth open in shock when the dagger strikes him*

I think you lose.

Rynx: No! He... he was about to die!

And you were too busy gloating and got stabbed by said dying man.

Rynx: *Struggles to remain standing, but sinks to his feet* I'm not dying without taking someone with me! *Opens mouth, and a very small, rather weak looking orb of darkness shoots from him.*

Yeah, from when Rynx bit him as a snake.

Michael: *is saved from getting hit by the orb of darkness only by collapsing to the ground face first*

I think Michael lost too. Do we wait to see who dies first or call it a draw?

Ohhh. That's right.

Rynx: I will not... die!

Buddy, you're dead. He stabbed you. *Pokes Rynx over* He dead. Yay Michael! If you is still alive?

Michael: *no response*
