In Narnia do you think they would have called themselves Christians or Aslanists? This is something I have thought about for a long time. I personally have an Issue with Christ or the church going by other names in other worlds. But what do you think about it?

Ill be honest I'm just shamelessly creating this post to feature how I tackled this subject in Ska'Lah'Seh.

In Ska'Lah'Seh the symbolic equivalent to Christianity is called Tal'Ah which loosely translates to High Path or Higher Life. Christ is symbolized by An'Ard (Whose name means leader of Men) the mortal incarnation of Yah (I bet you can guess who that is). Tal'Ah teaches that An'Ard taught mankind how to have faith how to hope and how to love after the fall in which man forgot how to do these things and ultimately sacrificed himself in order to free the world from Lum'Mon's (Lucifer) Tyranny.

I even have three different organizations which preach Talistic teachings the three representing the concept of denominations as seen in the modern church and different facets of religion.

The Old Way- Mostly practiced in the Eastern Alliance and other areas once part of Yah's Holy Republic. Members of the Old Way meet in forests or other places secluded from civilizati distaon in order to be closer to Yah's creation. There is no true Hierarchy Sha'An (Wise Men) who have studied the Ald'Lib (Good Word) Hah'Lah (Stones) teach the word to the common people and take on disciples who will one day also become She'An. The Old Faith recognizes that there are two people chosen each generation of unique importance. The Prophet who is given Yah's word through dreams and the Crusader who is charged with defending the world from evil. The She'An however recognize neither as a leader.

The Old Faith- The first Talistic organization with a distinct Hierarchy and political system. The Old Faith are mostly brainwashed Zealots who have never truly seen the Ald'Lib. They serve a man they recognize as their Prophet King and Divine Emperor. The term She'An is not used by this religion as they renounce all wisdom as doubt. They instead call their clergy Futh'An (Men of Faith). The Old Faith recognizes the existence of the Crusader but claim he is meant to destroy evil.

The New Faith- After seeing the Old Faith for what it was the Prophet Emperor Ab'Oh'Die whose name means death of great pride. Founded the new faith succeeding the Empire of the old Faith to his two sons. On the principle of peace and harmony. The clergy of the new faith are referred to as She'Ard (Shepherd). The new faith teaches open mindedness and strict pacifism. Often to a degree that some might consider arrogant but they mean well.

The Imperial Faith- Think Anglican.

Every denomination has its faults as you can see here but they do have their redeeming virtues. OK Maybe not the Old Faith but that was kinda supposed to symbolize religion gone wrong. Just as theLum'Ous another organization symbolizes Science gone wrong. And the Imperialist symbolize politics gone wrong. Ect.

Questions, comments, or concerns?

I don't know what Lewis would have termed Narnian believers, but I don't think it would have been Christians... In my opinion, calling Christianity the same thing in other words should only be done if it logically makes sense (i.e. It's connected to our universe the same way, or God/Christ/the Holy Ghost are all called by the same names.) Otherwise, my view is that it kind of makes the universe a bit unreal for it to copy this world's terminology without explanation.

It depends on what type of world you're creating. If, as Tolkien did, you write a myth said to be set in an earlier time in our world, or in science fiction you use planets in our universe, then I think you can be consistent without it sounding out of place. However, if you take the Lewis approach and write in a created world, whether reachable from our world or entirely separate, the terminology breaks down. As Christian writers, we use faiths and representations of Christianity in our "sub-creations", but that doesn't make them Christian. After all, what does Christian mean? Christ-like. That proves my point. Unless your world contains a divine savior whose name is Christ, then the use of a religion called Christianity is pointless because there's no meaning behind such a word.

Lewis just divided them by followers of Tash, and followers of Aslan.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
