Greetings,
First, some background:
My world/story idea originally developed out of a Star Wars fanfilm that I never got around to making. (Thankfully. The original script was pretty weak, which is to be expected considering I was only twelve years old when I wrote it. ;) ) Over the years, I played through the various adventures of Jedi Knight Zacce Nalum of the planet Delantare, eventually bringing him to the Ditto Town roleplay forums on Narniaweb. There, the character really blossomed, and his history, world and personality developed exponentially. I'm no longer active on Narniaweb, but the world of Delantare and Zacce are too ingrained in my mind to let go. (I'm sure you all know what that's like :) ) So, I'm trying to take what originally started as, essentially, a Star Wars fanfiction, and make it completely original and someday turn it into some kind of movie/tv series.

Now onto the idea:
For 600 years, the people of Delantare City have been locked in a never ending war with the evil Brotherhood. Led by the Nalum clan, the City has successfully held off the campaigns of the Brotherhood, but have never been able to fully defeat their enemies. But hope finally came with the succession of Alan Nalum to the head of the Nalum clan. Alan lead the City in numerous campaigns against the Brotherhood, beating them back from their numerous strongholds across the land of Delantare, until all that remained was their great Fortress. Just as victory finally seemed within the City's grasp, tragedy struck. In the siege of the Fortress, Alan was slain by the Brotherhood's leader, Venade.
This left the City no choice but to look to Alan's son, Zacce, for leadership. Unfortunately, Zacce was little more than a boy, and the last living member of the Nalum clan....

That's about all I have set out at the moment. From that point, I have several (similar) ideas for where to take the story that change just about every time I think about it. Some of them are:

I) The City Elders send Zacce to live with the old hermit Turag, to be protected from the Brotherhood until he is old enough to lead the City. Under Turag's guidance, Zacce grows into a capable warrior and returns to save the City from capture by the Brotherhood's armies.

II) Zacce is pressured by the City Elders to take up his father's mantle, despite his youth and inexperience. Unable to handle the demands set on him, he flees into the forest and meets Turag... it then continues like idea I.

Not knowing yet what format I want to deliver the story (feature length films, episodic TV series, etc.) makes it difficult in determining where to take it from that point. Either way, it all boils down to Zacce finally defeating Venade and the Brotherhood. I have germs of ideas for further adventures after that, but they can wait for now.

So! Thoughts/comments/critiques/accolades of my genius? ;)

I'd say if you want this for TV use you should go with idea two. Inner turmoil over your destiny is very popular right now. So, for curiosities sake, is this going to be fanfic? Are you using Star Wars as your jump off point? I mean, are you using all of the Star Wars history as your history, or are you just loosely basing your stuff off of Star Wars? I think your story differs enough from Star Wars that it could have its own identity, but you could also weave it in as fanfic.

Sorry, I should have clarified. All Star Wars elements that were in my original story have been stripped out, though I'm sure there will be a noticeable Star Wars influence. (I've been a Star Wars nut since I was 8 years old, and watching fanfilms is what initially got me into filmmaking :D) Hopefully it won't be as blatant as other fantasy series that I've heard of (not naming any names, I think you all know what I'm referring to. ;) )

So yeah, short answer is: No, this will not be related to Star Wars in any way.

Okay, I would still go with the second one though; it is a popular theme at present. I love Star Wars!!! Always have, even though it has some strong new age themes, as well as Gnosticism, I think they are clean and fun to watch (except a few female costumes, but I won't mention which ones. You all know what I'm talking about).
