Uman jumped on an intercepted Osuna communiqué that said one of their prisoners was found to have vital info and would need to have his memories removed for processing. Uman saw this as his chance to bring home the golden goose and get the coveted open seat on the War Council where his father sat as chair.
Uman took a small special ops team on a clawship (dumb name for smaller attack vessels) but was shot down before it got to the prison. On foot they made it in, but barely, as most of his team died in the assault. And when they found Griston, the prisoner with the info, he already has his mind wiped.
Uman tried to make the most out of his mission, by saving some Arakun who were prisoners and hijacking an Osuna cargo ship to get back to his carriership in time to jump to hyperdrive before the Osuna caught up and blew them away.

How does Uman tie into TGS and the Net plots?

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny. Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.
When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
