Water

........<a bee-sting>
........<a frostbitten bud>
........Vividity[

....<anger>}
<goodness>

This is one of my simpler X+ maps...what do you think? It is an actual description of some water I drank once. It was so strange and so striking an experience, I had to write an X about it. * grins *

Can anyone guess why the water tasted like this?

Ummm...was it from a mudpuddle? :rofl:

That's a neat map...I'm not good at reading this type of essence map though. :P
Anyway, it does help me have an idea of just how interesting your drink of water was... ;)

Are you implying something... o.0

Maybe I'll translate it into Xbasic as well as I can, and that would sort of help you understand how this system works, better. Would that help?

It was definitely an interesting drink of water. :D

Eh...no, I was just guessing! :blush: :dieshappy:

If you want to, I think it would help! :cool:

Okay...was it from some sort of well?

Sure, then! Of course it can't be completely translated, there are some things you can express in X+ that you can't in Xbasic, but I'll make it close.

Nope! Just as a hint...the water was completely normal water. I got it out of a bottle.

All right! Sounds good! *needs to learn X+ someday*

You mean a bottle that you bought at the store, the water that was sealed in it? Or normal water that you got somewhere and put into the bottle? :? :rofl:

How 'bout today? * hopeful * :D

Err...now I'm confused. :? The...important point, though...I think...is that the water was normal. And it didn't come out of a well, or anything else...unnatural. * suddenly realizes what she just said * :roll:

Hmm....I could try, sure! :D

Sorry. :P Isn't it natural for water to come out of a well though? ;) :rofl:
I think I may have had a similar drink though, from a bottle. Pretty muchly bitter tasting, though I missed the part about strength...and seetness...maybe I haven't after all. :rofl:

* smiles * I'll work on translating this, maybe it'll help. And if you have any questions about X+ you can ask me. :cool:

Er...yes. That was what I realized. :? :rofl:

If anyone else had drank it, it would have been quite ordinary tasting, to give a great big hint. :D

Cool, thank you. :D All right, I'll hopefully go read about X+ today and then my "[questions] will block the sun!" :cool: I appreciate your willingness to help me, since this is one of the things I've sort of wanted to do but been "afraid" of.

I was wondering if that was what you'd realized. :rofl:

Eh...your tongue is hyper active? Or...someone tried to poisen you? *isn't getting great big hint* :P :rofl:

* folds hands and waits for questions, suppressing eager bounces occasionally * What were you quoting? :)

:rofl:

Nope...and – not exactly. He didn't exactly try to poison me... * glances at him vindictively * But he certainly didn't mention the affect it would have on my tongue before I ate it! He just said it was spicy.

* so it wasn't a great big hint *

:shock: Oh, oh! I forgot to read about it!!! *runs away to find info about X+*
...
.... o.O...Okay I'll send you a PM with my questions to keep from cluttering this thread up.

I was partially quoting the persian messenger when he spoke to the spartan king Leonidas just before the battle at Thermopylae. It is said that it went like this:

Messenger tries to get Leonidas to surrender, Leonidas flatly refuses.

Messenger: "Our arrows will block the sun." to which Leonidas replied: "Then we shall have our battle in the shade."

Okay...whoa now wait a minute! You ate it?! o.O

Um...and this was water? Are you saying it had no added ingredients or it did?

*agrees that the hint was definitely not great big and then goes to finish questions in PM*

Sounds good to me!

Oh, I remember hearing about that somewhere. That was why I recognized it.

Er...I wasn't talking about the water when I said 'I ate it.' And the water had no added ingredients. It was just water. * nod *

Oh, thankyou! Yes...it is an X+ map.

How do you do it? I'm pretty sure I have the permissions to do it (being a Council member :roll:), but I know nothing as of yet.

I'll PM you some useful thread tutorials to look over. Most stuff isn't that difficult.

Hmmm... Did you eat something spicy and then had to drink a lot of water, so it had mixed tastes?

Thanks. :) I'd have looked for them myself, but I have little time for looking for things and a knack for getting lost. :D

No, not mixed tastes.
