The griffyns are half mountain lion, half eagle. They are mostly controlled by the centaurs.

The griffyns’ eyes are cat-like, gold-brown and large, and their snouts are comprised of a golden beak. Their ears are cat-like. Their heads are a tawny gold, with a darker gold triangle between their eyes. The griffyns’ bodies are the size of mountain lions, and have a medium build. They are a tawny gold. Their dark brown legs and feet are like those of an eagle. The griffyns’ tails are almost as long as their bodies, and lion-like. They are dark brown. Their golden wings are larger than eagles’ wings, and have a ten-foot span.

The griffyns are semi-sapient. They do not have any cobhaic powers. They are mainly used in battle for aerial attacks. Most griffyns are tamed. They give birth to one live cub at a time. Griffyns can live for up to thirty years. Their call is that of an eagle. They are protective and fearless.

The things I have outlined here are what is usually the case. It is possible for griffyns to differ from this description. Those who do are either adored or shunned. If you have any questions about why I made them a certain way, ask away! It will help me to solidify them.

OK, I'll ask a few questions. :)

First of all, you said that:
Raven of the Wood wrote:

This implies that the ones that aren't are not used in battle/controlled by centaurs? So an untame griffin could help the centaurs out if he wishes, but doesn't have to? I was under the impression that all gwythdraegyns were controlled by slyphs. But not all griffyns are controlled by centaurs? It's sort of like taming a horse before you can ride it? Hope that question made sense.

Raven of the Wood wrote:

So they only have one cub throughout their entire lives, or they have many offspring but only one at a time?

Correct. The untamed ones have very little contact with any of the races.

Also correct, except not all gwythdraegyns are tame, either.

They have a number of offspring, but only one at a time.

So for all of these creatures it's not so much that they are bonded to the race but that race has the easiest time taming them and working with them? I think I got it now. :)

These sound great! What are the cobhaic powers that they possess?
