I am working on something for a cosplay/reenactment, and it involves an FBI agent. While I have examples for how their official ID should look, I need to know how they would store it. Would it be in their wallet? Would they carry it in their pocket? Did they carry it somewhere or somehow special? Was it put on any sort of special paper? Thank you very much! |

I think it would be in a flip up badge holder. FBI agents had to wear jackets and hats at the time and they would keep it in the inside jacket pocket. However, I'm talking from my understanding, not referenceable fact. |

Your best bet would be to look for photos of FBI agents from the 40s. I did some Google searching and found a lot of timelines of events but not of dress code... but there are photos. Just be careful you're looking at journalistic photos and not stills from old movies. |

I believe they did carry it in something like a pocket holder, but have never found anything to verify it. Suits and ties were the formal dress code, so it would make sense for that to be the case. There's really not anywhere else to carry things in a suit that can be easily accessed. |
