I have a little dragon, no bigger than a family Bible. He is a feisty little fellow, really good with music. Iridescent wings of deepest blue shading to the rich purples of his body. His jewel-like green eyes glow especially bright when he is immersed into his singing. I should warn you, Asaph can be mischievous and loves to play his little tricks. |

I have a dragon. Her name is Sala. She is dark purple and about as large as a medium sized dog. She is fast, good at hiding, fond of people, and likes games. |

Meet Methuselah, also known as Matty, my dragon. He is young (only 200 years old), and is quite quirky and fun. Matty isn't an old, wise, well versed dragon; he's impetuous and youthful, and has a very carefree outlook on life. He is not yet fully grown, and is quite slim in build, although that will change as he matures in age. Deep blue in colour, he has hints of black on his wings and body. |

Annwyl smiles, standing beside a large dragon. Its body, tail, and legs are a shimmering golden-orange color, first appearing to look like the colors of blazing flames before shifting to the shades of a duller-colored autumn leaf. The shifting shades of orange, red, yellow, gold, and brown are so subtle, it doesn't jar one's senses or cause their eyes to ache. His eyes are a jade green, though as he blinks calmly, they sometimes seem to be a dark brown instead. "Meet my dear Suiadan," Annwyl says, the fond smile on her face widening.. (Suiadan is pronounced soo-ee-a-dahn) "I sometimes call him Dany (Dahn-ee). He's not all that old; just 300 years or so." Here, a deep sort of raspy chuckling sound comes from Suiadan's throat. "Not old in dragon years perhaps. But as for human years, I am quite old." Annwyl frowns, brushing a stray lock of hair from her eyes. "Shush, Dany. You're not that old." She continues, raising an eyebrow and giving Suiadan a look that seems to tell him not to interrupt anymore. "Suiadan used to live in the Geheim Desert before we met. I had been carried off by a wandering dragon, and taken from the forest where I lived to the desert. Suiadan rescued me." Suiadan lowers his head in sudden awkward embarrassment, but Annwyl rambles on. "We became friends, and here we are now. Suiadan is very brave and protective of those he loves, and when someone or something he cares about is threatened, he becomes rather fierce and even slightly frightening. But most of the time, he's very gentle, kindhearted, selfless, and understanding. He's mostly very calm, but sometimes he can become easily riled or excited. He also likes to engage in debates." Here, Annwyl stops to take a breath, grinning. Suiadan nudges her with his nose. "That's quite enough, little one. Stop now before my scales go red." "Oh!" Annwyl's eyes light up. "One more thing; Suiadan is part of a special species of dragon. Their scales have one base color that shimmers from shade to shade, but the color changes depending on their mood. Their eyes change color to suit their emotions as well." With a sly grin, she adds, "That's what he meant by saying his scales would turn red. When he's embarrassed, they go this very beautiful, rosy pink-red colo--" Annwyl is cut off by Suiadan, who promptly uses his paw and scoops her up, depositing her on his back. "Enough, you incorrigible little girl." Annwyl giggles, but goes quiet regardless, grinning silently. (Disclaimer: I am so, so sorry for how long this turned out. *facepalm* I can try and shorten it if ya'll want me to. I got carried away...) |

I have a dragon. She has a boring name - Blue Dragon. There you see her in my avatar. She represents my more passionate nature, and often gets me in trouble. B.D. (Or so I call her) is fiercely protective, and will use everything in her power to save those she loves. She is capable of manipulating her mass, meaning she can grow and shrink indefinitely at will, explode and re-form elsewhere, turn invisible, etc. Anger her at your own risk. |

A girl comes in with long brown hair and a long, plain, red cotton dress. She smiles and waves a small white and blue dragon away from her head, where it is circling and swiping at her hair. "His name is Inez. He is very naughty, and usually hungry." Inez lands on her shoulder and bobs his head. "Wurrr!" The girl rolls her eyes a little and smiles again. "I have another dragon I want to show you as well. He doesn't have a name yet. He's just a baby." Another little dragon, only a handful big, all soft black and gold, creeps in through the door with wings trailing like rumpled cloak and squeals softly. |

A person like a Jewish train conductor in black pushes the door wider open with his boot. "I brought Pharos, but he doesn't want to come in because he doesn't want to squish any of the littler dragons. He is named for the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Well, there he is. He's that thing in the hall. Would someone like to collect the small ones, and perhaps he will venture inside?" |

Having seen all the littler dragons safely on Mama Lauser's lap, the person in black informs the dragon waiting the hall that the floor is clear. A vast creature moves in like a ship and makes his way nearer to the sunlight pouring through the windows. It is like a cross of a sarcosuchas and a parasaurolophus. The sarcosuchas is a giant, ancient relative of the crocodile, with a bulge on its snout thought to be used in breathing fire, and the parasaurolophus is a two-legged dinosaur with a long, curving crest thought to be used in trumpeting. Pharos is mainly like a sarcosuchus, but has the crest of the parasaurolophus. He saves his fire for emergencies, but is willing to show off by trumpeting and rearing up. He may be the color of dark leather, but it is difficult to see beneath a layer of dry mud from the river delta where he lives. He can talk, only he never does. Asaph alights on Pharos's crest and sings through the window, and the man in black leans against the dragon's side listening. Thank you for posting about Asaph Mama! Now you have your purple dragon. There was actually a description of flying dragons with iridescent wings in After the Flood. They lived in a wood, and were beautiful. |
