We have determined that there may be some curiosity regarding the specific roles of each leadership group found here on Holy Worlds. Thus, in order to quell those questions, we have devised a short explanation of the roles of each leadership group for you all.
Editors: Editors are given the task of editing posts and the content of posts for grammatical and formatting correctness, as well as keeping threads on topic through their own personal responses. The basic role of an Editor is to keep the posts on the Forums clean and refreshing looking at all times. Upholding a high standard themselves when it comes to grammar and formatting, Editors are here to encourage and remind all users the importance of the appearance in regards to individual posts and threads.
Promotion Qualities: When we look for people to fulfill the Editor role, we expect and examine one's posting qualities. We look for excellent and consistent grammatical and spelling correctness and a very consistent record of almost always staying on topic when replying to threads. Seeing as you will be guarding these duties upon becoming an Editor, we expect you to already possess them and to continually implicate them in your own writings and interactions.
Honor Roll Members: Honor Roll Members are given the responsibility of setting an example in all manners of speech and conduct, including but not limited to grammar, tone, content, format, and style. Besides being role models, Honor Roll Members are encouraged to contact any user privately in order to resolve conflict or discuss any possible issues. By constantly striving to provide encouragement and set high standards within their own conduct and actions, Honor Roll Members are here to resolve matters peacefully and privately and set an example of excellence for all members.
Promotion Qualities: When we look for Honor Roll Members, we tend to notice their interactions with people more. We still expect Honor Roll Members to possess Editor characteristics (good grammar, spelling, and focus); however, we are now expecting them to take it one step further. We expect to see you behaving civilly with all other members, handling delicate situations with poise and success, and being willing to really work with other members on bettering their work or aiding them in a thought process. If you are already an Editor looking to become an Honor Roll Member, we will be honing in on your interactions with people more than anything else.
Foundational Members: Foundational Members are individuals who have greatly aided in the development of a specific forum in the past or who have served as a member of the Council, Marcher Lords, Moderators, Honor Roll Members, or Editors, but find they are no longer able to dedicate the time and care needed to fulfill that role. These are the forum's role models who were once and still can be instrumental to the forum's success.
Promotion Qualities: This group is not accessible through promotion. It is a place for those who are already a part of the Forum Team to retain recognition in retirement.
Moderators: Moderators are given the privilege of combining the responsibilities of Honor Roll Members and Editors in order to basically run and operate the Forums. These members will be given great responsibility and trust from the on-set and will be the key to the smooth process of all things within the Forums. They will be equipped with new tools in order to better run the Forums. Moderators are also expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is fitting to one that holds numerous responsibilities and should take their tasks in all seriousness. In short, Moderators are the ones who control the Forums as a whole.
Promotion Qualities: A Moderator is expected to already possess the promotion qualities of an Editor and an Honor Roll Member, as most Moderators will be promoted from the ranks of the Editors or Honor Roll Members. However, we expect Moderators to take Editor and Honor Roll Member qualities even further. Your ability to lead others, start and manage quality and thought-provoking threads, clearly and articulately organize, aid, and sometimes direct others is especially looked at. Seeing as Moderator responsibilities are quite a bit more on the heavy side, we also desire individuals who have the time and the dedication to commit to Moderating the Forums.
Captains: Captains are granted the responsibility of guiding the Forums and the vision of the Forums as a whole. While they will still work one-on-one with users, correct posts, work on threads, and conduct themselves at high standards, their main tasks are to discuss ways to advance the Forums and make sure that the Forums are being run smoothly. The tasks granted at this level are usually not as hands on as the others and fills a more administrative type role. Captains are the directors and visionary people who oversee all of the other tasks that need to be completed, sometimes doing those tasks themselves when needed.
Promotion Qualities: Captains are trusted individuals. We expect all leadership qualities listed in Editors, Honor Roll Members, and Moderators to be continually sought and expectations exceeded in those areas. Since we give Captains greater deal of freedom and leadership status, these individuals have most likely been around the Forums for quite a while or we have known the individuals for quite a while and can vouch for their character and consistency. We expect a great deal of maturity and poise, as well as sincere willingness to commit time and efforts to the directing of Holy Worlds.
