One of our board features include the ability to Private Message another individual who is registered with the Holy Worlds Forums. The Private Message system acts as an on-site email system. Basically, any register user can send a Private Message containing a subject and content only viewable to the sender and the recipient. The procedure for composing a Private Message (PM) is very simple.

You can either access your Private Message folders through the UCP (User Control Panel) or you may click on the (0) New Messages link located on the upper left of the forums next to the Log Out link. Once in the Private Message folder, select the Compose Message sub-category (if you wish to start a new message). If you wish to reply to a Private Message from another, you can click on the message and scroll to the bottom, clicking on the button that says ‘Reply’ at the bottom or top left. Within here, you may type in a title (a title must be present in order to send your message), type in the desired content of your message, and add the recipients by typing in their username in the box title ‘Usernames’ located on in the upper left. If you do not know how to spell a user’s name, you may select the ‘Find a Member’ link located beneath the box. Once you have the appropriate username present in the box, you may select the ‘Add [To]’ option for their username to appear as a recipient of your message. Please note that if you are replying to a Private Message, the user’s name and title are already present for you. Click submit when you have filled in and are satisfied with all content.

Under the username box, you will also find an 'Add [BCC]' feature as well. If you are looking to PM more than one user and would like to set it up so the recipients do not know who the other recipients are or so that the recipients to do not reply to the PM and create a chain of PMs sent to everyone on the list each time you reply, you can use the BCC feature. It will send a carbon (or invisible) copy to all the people you add to BCC. Please note that we do not advocate mass PMs created for advertising; use wisely and with discretion.

It is also possible to PM a user directly from their profile page or from a topic/post of theirs. All you need to do is click on the button that says ‘PM,’ and the screen will shift to the Compose Message screen. In this case, you only need to specify the title and the content of your message, as the user’s, whose profile or post you clicked the Private Message link, name is already present in the recipient section.

Private Messages will not be moderated by the Forum Team, as they are considered private conversations on the forums. However, we do retain the right to intervene or view reported Private Messages, should a user feel threatened or discomforted by the conduct presented in received Private Messages. If you are receiving unwanted, spam-like, or abusive and degrading content through Private Messages, please notify a Council Member or Marcher Lord or Sir Emeth Mimetes immediately so that we may act to resolve the situation with due haste. Should you ever receive emails of the same sort from members of the Holy Worlds forums or from the Holy Worlds forum in and of itself, please notify a Council Member or Sir Emeth Mimetes immediately. If either of these situations occur or have occurred, we sincerely apologize for your experience and will do everything possible to counteract the situation immediately.

It should be noted that the Marcher Lords and the Council are at liberty to disable Private Messaging privileges for forum members should they abuse their privileges. We will only resort to such an act in extreme cases and only after notifying you of our reasoning behind such an action.

If you are present on other forums, you may question the location of your Friends and Foes list. We do not have this option enabled on the Holy Worlds forums and never will. We feel that such a feature may cause less than uplifting feelings among the users and play a role in favorites on the forums. As such, we have chosen to completely avoid this feature and will not make this feature available to any user, regardless of rank or length of time spent on the forums.

If you should have any further questions regarding Private Messages or features related to Private Messages, please feel free to voice them here.
