I recently started using Chrome... It's awesome, but I may have reason to hate it. It's giving me errors on this site. That will NOT do for any browser of mine! I get this error when I try to edit posts (other than my own). The first time I click "submit," it brings up an error page. If I back and then submit again, it goes through. I tried to search and see if this question has been brought up before, but the search function also gives me an error. And it will not correct itself by backing and resubmitting. Here's a screenshot of the error I got when I tried to search just now. The page shows up in the title bar as "General Error." I've not yet had this problem on HWSF.

hm... I was getting something like this last night when HW had just come back online... (did it when I tried clicking on some of the links) *goes to try search for herself* I get an error message on search too. (I'd rather not try editing someone's post to see if it does the same thing I get the same error in IE so it's not Chrome. |

That looks similar to the error I was getting over Amanda's newest avatar. That one seems to have got fixed though... but none of them seem to be entirely rational. |

I've got that error, too, since last night, and I'm not using Chrome. It also never happens to me on HWSF. |

That's not related to Chrome browser. I can tell you that much. I use and have used Chrome forever, and that doesn't happen. Also, that referencing files in the error. Which is odd. |

So it's a site issue, not Chrome. That's good - maybe? * looks around for Jay * Thanks, Hannah. |

Last night when I got the error, sometimes a page would never load, but today whenever I hit back and reload the page, it always loads the second time. |

I got this error while making a post. While I was writing, someone else posted, so the 'one or more posts have been made to the topic...' error thingy came up. When I tried to post I got this error. It didn't end there. Then after that, when I tried to post, it gave me the general error thingy again, and this time it said 'You are not allowed to access this file'. So I edited that into my post, tried to post, and same error. This time I did NOT change the content, but I got the same error. I eventually gave up. Apparently at one of those times it went through. |

Okay. Sequence of events. (To try to make sense of this mess.) 1. I posted that message 2. I edited it. 3. General SQL error. 4. I backspaced, hit submit and got the "This post has been altered by another user" error. 5. Submitted and got the general error. 6. Succeeded in posting the edit. This is all highly mysterious... and I wonder if it's repeatable? EDIT: Testing, testing, 123... |

I'm thinking something has gone wrong, due to yesterday’s events. Or was it the day before...? The server error. |

Oh! That! Right! I was wondering the same thing. It sounds mysteriously like an alien invasion to me. The site goes down for several hours, for no apparent reason and without even any normal errors... and then we start getting strange problems no one can explain.... |

They are SQL database corruption errors that are confusing the posting and search functions. I am examining it. More diagnostics details would be helpful though. |

Hmm... It seems to be getting worse. Up until today, whenever the error happened, I just hit backspace and resubmitted whatever I was doing and it worked fine. Today... I went to delete a double post and it deleted both posts. |

I just edited a post on this thread. (I appreciate that one of the MLs conveniently left a grammar error just for me to test this. I'm going to try and delete Airianna's double-posts and see if that's functioning correctly now. If they both disappear... we'll know what happened. |

| Post subject: | Re: Chrome Errors |
Okay, Airianna had two entries that double-posted. I deleted one of the duplicates, and the original also went away. So I edited the deleted information back into one of the other duplicated posts. The edit showed up on both the original and its duplicate. No error screens so far, however. |

It's doing it everywhere, sweetheart, not just Chrome. I know several of these members have a different browser than I do. So it seems to be across the board. |

It seems that in with the mixup there were a few posts that got pseudo-posted, so that they were in there twice with the same id, so if you delete one it deletes the other. Possibly. The question is, is it still doing it? |

There are at least two more double-posts in this thread - one from Airianna and one from Katie. Can we try deleting one of yours, gals? |

I have a suggestion. If the two really are linked, deleting one deletes the other, which is undesirable. But shouldn't editing one also edit the other? In this way we can test the true nature of a double post without deleting it, which is undesirable. |

I edited one of the double posts on this thread, and the edit copied to both. |
