Many people question the requirement of registration for the Holy Worlds Forums, the process of registration, and the occasional flukes that prevent already registered users from logging in or remaining logged in. As a result, this informational post shall serve as a guide, should any of the said questions be raised.
The necessity for registering with the Holy Worlds forums lies in our ability to better protect our users and their private information. Should the requirement to register be lifted, the present users and any future users could possibly be subject to spam and less than honest visitors. Our deepest desire is to maintain a safe and uplifting atmosphere at all times on Holy Worlds.
In order to carry out this desire, we require that all people with the intention to post and participate in the discussions held within these forums complete the registration process honestly. We do review each and every application for legit answers and decide upon our membership accordingly. If you are simply here to read up on the latest discussions, but for whatever reason do not want to join the forums, we understand and welcome you to do so without hesitation. If you have safety concerns that hinder you from being able to register, you are more than welcome to email Sir Emeth Mimetes with your concerns.
As for the process of registering, simply be sure you are on the index page of the Holy Worlds forums. Click the register link located in the top left hand corner. Please fill out all required fields accurately and truthfully, so that we approve your account with due haste. Once you have filled out and submitted your application, we shall review it and approve your membership as quickly as one of our Marcher Lords can get to you. Upon approval, you will be sent a message to your account welcoming you to Holy Worlds, which you may access by logging in with the username and password you registered with. At that point, you may participate in any and all discussions around the forums.
Now, there have been situations where a user may lack the ability to log into the forums. In this case, we advise that you follow these steps:
- If you have just registered, check your email box for a secondary email, after the initial 'thank you for registering,' that states your account has been activated. Once you have received that email, you should be able to log in.
- Check and double check your password and username. One wrong letter or capitalization error could very well prevent you from having access to the Forums.
- If you are positive of the correctness of your username and password, scroll down to the bottom of the index page and click on the link located on the bottom left stating "Delete all Board Cookies." Try your username and password once again.
- If none of those three options solve the situation, please contact Sir Emeth Mimetes to ensure the validity of your account and the absence of any other situations that might prevent you from having access to the forums.
If you believe that you have lost your password and cannot recall it, click on the link below the login text box, stating 'I forgot my password!' It will ask you for your email and your username. A generic password will be sent to your email, with which you may log in to your account. Upon log in, access the User Control Panel and change your password to one of your own for the safety of your account.
Please be aware that the forums' log in timer has been set for an hour. After an hour has passed of no activity on your account, though you are still logged in, it will automatically log you out in order to protect your account from other people. If you wish to stay logged in, regardless of inactivity, for an indefinite amount of time, you will need to check the 'Log me in Automatically' option to the right of the login text boxes before you submit your password and username. Please use this option with caution, as we wish to keep your account protected as much as possible.
If you should come across any further questions regarding registration and the ability to log into the site, please feel free to ask in reply to this thread.
