I was wondering, would it be possible to incorporate hashtags into the AG? Whilst brainstorming to myself how better to run the POTM contest, I realized that one of the biggest issues in running it is having to collect all the entries into one blooming great email and dumping it on the judges. However if we could use hashtags, or labels, or some other such similar thing, people entering the contest would only have to use tags such as #POTMJuly, etc. and the judges could judge all the photos directly in the AG simply by searching for that tag. It would take an enormous load off coordinators, and make it abundantly easier for judges to deliberate over. This would also be HUGELY helpful for any other art contest HW wants to hold, as every single one of the entries will be in a collective group in the AG for judges to peruse.

Would this be something difficult to implement? Is there any awesome geeky people besides Andrew who could make it happen? (I know Andrew is probably flat out with stuff right now) Thoughts? Opinions?

The hashtags are a good idea. I know there are the tags you have to manually type in & select tags (it's a pain ). But the actual hashtags would be helpful.

I like the idea, if it's feasible.

* tilts head * Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it seems to me that hashtags are not something that needs to be worked into the system or implemented or anything like that. It just needs to be used. There's already a search in the Art Gallery. So if you decided to use hashtags, you would just search for a hashtag, and all the images with that hashtag would show up. Right?

Regardless, it's a great idea.

Hrmm... this is a good point, Juliet. There are currently already labels in use for the pictures in the gallery, however I'm not sure it's possible to make new ones should you need them for an event... Are there any techy people about to help?

Caleb knows the URL for adding new tags. You could easily add a tag like 'Art Contest' or whatever it needs to be
