It's Holy World's third birthday, and you're excited. You run into the party room and are instantly doused in glitter and plied with all sorts of good food.

You notice a sign that says, "Realms Beyond Scavenger Hunt."

"Oooh!" you think. "One of those things where you have to find two pinecones and a cranberry!"

You follow the arrow on the sign, and go down a hall, through a maze, over a hill, and finally into a small amphitheater already filled with people.

A herald is frantically trying to quiet the gathering crowd. You whistle as loud as you can, and all falls silent. The herald shoots you a grateful glance.

"I have been commissioned by the Marcher Lords," the herald says, "To tell you about a contest being run this fine day. You are to be sent on a scavenger hunt of literally otherworldly proportions. It will take you into the deepest, darkest parts of the Realms as you seek to answer their most difficult questions and solve their most challenging riddles. For this purpose, you have been divided into three teams."

The herald nails three team lists on the supports of the amphitheatre

Team I
Team II
Team III

"The first team to successfully answer the questions posed to them, or the one with the most questions answered successfully at the culmination of the contest will be declared winner. The use of search engines is expressly forbidden. This contest's aim is not only fun, but teamwork and bonding. Use the resources available to you, your team thread and the chatroom, to collaborate with your teammates."

The herald places two boxes on a table, one containing green rings, the other yellow. "You know what to do with these."

He turns to leave, before turning back again. "Oh, and there are also two pinecones and a cranberry. If you look hard, you may spot them. Good luck."

The herald vanishes in rainbow smoke.

You rush up, grabbing a ring of each colour. You put the yellow one on, and are instantly transported to the Wood Between Worlds.

Note: If you missed sign-ups, it's not too late! Just post that you would like to join. New team members will be added periodically.

Note 2: There was a slight change to team lists. Please check to make sure you're helping the right team. ;)

Quick question. The contest ends at midnight on September 21, but which time zone?

Also, a quick note that I forgot to make last night... If you submitted questions for the scavenger hunt, you MAY NOT answer your question or help your teammates with it.

*raises hand*

Does the explicit forbidding of search engines include the "Find" option? *bashful look*

Hmmm. Yes. ;)

But if anyone has already used it, that's okay. That it could be used didn't even cross my mind. But no more. ;)

GAH!

What about "search user's posts"? Because I found the other pinecone.

I should totally have changed the poster on those.

I seem to see "search" in that feature. ;)

Unfortunately, no. That would fall under the realm of helping, methinks.

Shouldn't matter; I found it anyway. Er, assuming 'view new posts' doesn't count as a search... (I wasn't even looking for it, that's just how I see which threads I should read.)

And the moment you've all been waiting for!

Team III finished first, at 9:18 PDT. o.O
Amerouk: 1 point
Tira: 0.5 (the answer did not explain what the project was for)
Eshteka: 1
Ska'Lah'Seh: 1
Allare: 1
Elleys: 1
Vadra: 1
Ainaan: 1
Rantis: 1
Zoriah: 0 (kingdom fell in year 19)
Red World: 1
Lor-Amar: 1
Eartea: 1
Saemyr: 1
Ccwiicc: 1
Bonus: 3
TOTAL: 16.5

So! Team III finished first, but they did not get as many point as were available (18). So, if another team does get them all... *builds suspense*

Team II finished second, at 6:04 PDT
Amerouk: 1
Eshteka: 1
Tira: 1
Allare: 1
Ska'Lah'Seh: 1
Ccwiicc: 1
Elleys: 0 (answer was great-nephew)
Zoriah: 1
Red World: 1
Vadra: 1
Ainaan: 1
Rantis: 1
Saemyr: 1
Lor-Amar: 1
Eartea: 1
Bonus: 3
TOTAL: 17

So Team II still didn't get the total number! Can Team I make it?
Amerouk: 1
Tira: 1
Eshteka: 1
Ska'Lah'Seh: 1
Allare: 1
Elleys: 1
Vadra: 1
Ainaan: 1
Rantis: 1
Zoriah: 1
Red World: 1
Lor-Amar: 1 (the answer didn't match the one given by the Realmowner, but the answer sent me didn't seem to match the question, and you had the right thread)
Eartea: 0 (correct answer Sowers and Reapers)
Saemyr: 1
Ccwiicc: 0 (correct answer: oNiircgrwewxyiiwunccwiicc)
Bonus: 3
TOTAL: 16

So Team II is the winner! Great job, everyone! The prize will be announced tomorrow.

Congratulations, everyone! Ya'll did a fantastic job. It was a lot of fun watching you plow through those seemingly impossible questions. :D

That question about Ellys had no conclusive answer! I demand to be shown the evidence of the elves' kingdom falling in year 19, and if not that, I DEMAND A REMATCH! *shakes fist in air*

Just kidding. ;) Great job team II!

Don't you mean Zoriah? I found the Elleys one, and that one was conclusive.

You guys did a great job. ^_^ I only found one question, being gone most of the day.
