Just wondering. Feedback on it before I spend money. Connecting with HW friends.

I've never heard of it before ... but I'm going to add it to my list (which is currently just "the Holy Worlds Fireside" and "WEbook, if it's still up by then") of places to read and critique other writers' work if I ever get to the bottom of my massive pile of papers. So thank you for the pointer. :)

Before spending money on it, or posting my own work, I'd want to at least do some Web searching to try to determine if it's really on the up-and-up and if there are any "gotchas" in its terms and conditions.

The free level gives you some stuff. Mostly the idea is to crit others to earn credits to submit your own stories. I just submitted TDW.1429.1.1 so we'll see how it goes. I'm not overly concerned about someone taking my work since this is only the second draft.

Realm Makers is in the process of setting up a membership program that will include critique groups. The free Facebook group is also highly active and it's perfectly acceptable and common for members to post looking for critique partners or feedback volunteers. But the membership program should be good as it will be a healthier blend of experienced vs newbie writers so you don't end up in a group of the-blind-leading-the-blind.

I've also heard of Word Weavers and a few other groups but they're all about the same cost as Realm Makers is going to be (same as a Critique Circle membership) and I'd rather be surrounded by fellow speculative writers than be the odd-duck-out surrounded by inspirational romance and the like.

Any more on "Realm Makers Critique Groups"? Pretty much everything I saw was about the conference. I did join the Realm Makers Consortium on Face Book.
