(On a side note, I tried recording my other song and it sounded terrible-I had to hear it played back to realize that it was extremely repetitive and boring and it stunk).

Go ahead! I'm desperate here!
And like I said, the music for the other one STINKS. It would be better if I could think of a chorus with different chords, but I can't. :P

Thanks!! I've already developed a theme for the melody. :dieshappy: I was just wondering... ahem, just a teensy weensy bit of tweaking maybe could do? :beg: Cos at the moment the rhyme scheme is aababc ababcd and I was wondering if you could add an extra 'a' verse so it would be aababc aababcd which would round it off nicely when set to music... That's just a thought. Otherwise I will try and work arounds it... And may I substitute 'Always' instead of 'Together!' in the sixth verse down? It's fine if you don't want me to!!!! :D Thanks for letting me try!

Uh... *does not understand musician-speak* o.O
I'm not sure where you're thinking of putting "Always." It wouldn't make much sense if it replaced the last "Together!" And what are you talking about with the abcbaabcnacbasdcbwdinwe rhyming? Please quote the part you were speaking of. :P

NotThatShort Mimetes wrote:
Because I will
Never leave you
And I will
Never forsake you
We will
Fight together
Stand together
Together!
For this verse may I put 'Always!' instead of 'Together!' What do you think? It twas a just a thought... If you honestly don't want, please say! :D

After this verse I was just thinking maybe you could isert another verse of the same meter, so its like where there are these two verses at the start

And then you get the 'Cause I know' chorus bit after...
Just so it kind of balances :) Twas just an idea What thinks you?

Oh. Sure, I guess I like the Always! :D
And, lots of songs have two initial verses in the beginning, so you get more of an introduction before the chorus is dumped on you. So the first verse can be slower, and the second can speed up to the pace of the rest of the song. Sort of like an intro.

Yes, that's why I did it. It wasn't an erratic mistype  I'm sure you're doing great, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I sees! yay I've got the theme for the first three verses and had a go at recording them, and I've developed the melodies for the others! I'm using piano, electric choir and voice :dieshappy: (Just to keep you updated ;) )

Cool! :dieshappy: I can't wait to hear it!
Just so you don't get too far into it without me making sure you know this; I want it to sound sort of like a battle song... But emotion-stirring as well. Like, it makes you want to cry sort of (if music affects you the way it does me) and listen to it over, and over, and over again... I can give a few examples: The Narnia theme, The theme of Rohan from LotR (the one with the violin), Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne, Magnificent Journey by Sound Adventures.
Just making sure it won't sound like, I don't know, a miniature ballerina fairy dance or something... I'm sure you're doing great! I can't compose for the life of me. :P

*Eyes pop* *swallows hard*  Well... I'll try my best... Though obviously I could never even begin to attain their standards of composition... If I could I'd be famous by now ;)
But I get what you mean about a battle song, and emotional.
I've come up with several themes and I'm trying to see which works best or whether I could use all of them or something... I've got the build up going up to verses 7 and 8, and then verse 9 (open your eyes) is like the denouement, so I've used high octave notes there. I'm having a bit of trouble with the 'high mountain' and 'We made it' bit but I'll try and work around it.
Um, it's probably going to be rubbish, but it was just a try... I hope you won't be too disappointed :?

Whatever it is, I'm sure it won't be rubbish. Far, far better than the nothing I had... :dieshappy:

* timidly * Well...I sort of volunteered to write a melody for it in your first thread and I've actually been working on it. I've just been sorta busy for awhile, and it was fighting me in parts. And I kinda put it aside for a bit when I saw that Cynthia was working on it. But I went over it yesterday, and if you still wouldn't mind me writing a melody for it I could work on it some more. I have it finished for the verses, so I could record that and see of you like the direction it's going.

Really? o.O I don't even remember... I usually don't remember things well, but still...
I've actually changed it up a bit (I need to edit my posted version) and I actually wrote a melody for the vocals. But I can't sing it; I sound terrible. I can play it on piano, though-next time the house is quiet, I'll have another go at recording it.
But I'd love to hear what you have! :D

That's all right, I didn't really think you had. :D

Oh, you wrote a melody for it? That's great! I can add it to my aborted projects list then, if you like...I didn't like anything but the verses anyway, the rest I hadn't worked out yet 'cause it didn't sound very good. If you do want to hear it still, I can try to record me singing it, but I wouldn't mind if you didn't. Sometimes having more than one tune is more of a bother than having no tune at all. :)

I actually like mine, but it needs adapting. Oh, and remind me to send the edited version of the song...
And I haven't been able to think up a tune for the "I will never leave you" part. :P
