| Post subject: | The skrac language |
I'm thinking that the skrac language (the tongue of the skreeks) will have equivalent translations in the English language. The verbs end in th. Here are a few words. An 's' is added to the end of a noun to make is a plural. Here are some of the rules... Past tense is complicated... Since I'm in the Spanish mood, I'll changed the ending from 'th' for past tense to 'ch'. Present tense shall remain 'th'. Also, in Skrac, the noun determine the tense, unlike Spanish where there are verb congregations. (If you don't know what I'm talking about: http://www.studyspanish.com/lessons/pret1.htm) In this language, the verb endings are the same, being either 'th' in present, 'ch' in past, and 'duch' in future. Nouns have different congregations. Take nesh for example (means ocean). If I were to say that "the ocean is red." I would say "Ri nesh kilth sav." If I said "The ocean was red." then the Skrac equivalent is "Ri nesh kilch sav." If I said "The ocean will be red." Then it would be "Ri nesh kilduch sav." All in all, the language mixes some morphed Spanish rules and English sentence structure. Nouns beast- graka idiot- gotu mist- navin star- vella resolve- ganend rain- ta water- hor cat- rop mountain- yacav power- epon sky- mirsa sin- bab night- ditrio day- mekzef ocean- nesh crocodile- scrallix ghost- hi (days of the week) today- nia Sunday- Meknia Monday- Zania Tuesday- Recnia Wednesday- Velnia Thursday- Anenia Friday- Gunia Saturday- Thermia (months) January- Anaya February- Lecya March- Enya April- Tunya May- Reya June- Unaya July- Icneya Agaust- Nesuya September- Jenaya October- Beruya November- Shenya December- Garacya month- Leya Verbs (in present tense) is (was, will)- kilth are- areyth am- ecth look (looked, will look) -qenth run (ran, will run)- pioth approach (approached, will approach)- gath Pronouns they- shallas them- shallash you- wellca I- Ee Articles a- ah the- ri an- aha Adjectives cute- pachu bad- glarsh good- hoppen crazy- lonk excited- quee fast- rappy behind- yar (colors) red- sav orange- fef yellow- ciepor green- trec purple- chil blue- gannu white- solu black- cah brown- dire magenta- gal pink- san gray- sok aqua (a mix of green and blue)- ninka dark- nah (h sound is stressed) light- erip neon- yi Adverbs away- wok |

I really like the language you came out with. Have you read Christopher Paolini's inheritance series? once again I really like your language. |

I would gladly help you, but could you post the alphabet? I know that U is E and R is P But other then that I'm kinda lost. |

Back up. When did alphabet change? ![]() I'm quite certain that it matches up with the basics of all languages derived from Latin... The reason 'I' is translated into 'Ee' is the same reason that 'si' is translated into 'yes' in English. |

My apologizes but I was looking for what letters could equal other letters. I saw that one word, "Run" started with a "P" it was the only R word I saw so I made the assumtion that R equals P. |

It's okay. No worries~! Anyways, I talked to my dad and he says that... *pulls up e-mail* Quote: I would start from the basics; verbs, adjectives and nouns. Once you have the basics down you can start to combine words to create a more robust language. There may be some documentation out there that can help with this process. Think about the words that a baby would learn first like "more", "thirsty", "hungry", "play", "mom", or "dad". These are words that inherently mean a lot and can tell a story quickly with out a lot of effort. To be honest.. I quite don't grasp what he's saying completely. Ugg... I'm such a butterbrain today. What does he mean by "documentation"? .... *e-mails him back* |

My dad said that. Since then, he e-mailed me back, telling me to google 'making my own language'. I'll start the process once I'm back from spring break. I actually found something quite useful a couple days ago. |

*grins* A few years ago, my cousin and I were nearly obsessed with creating our own "language". Here are some words that I would think are necessary: Help Want words for numbers (what if your language has a different number system than us?) Hand Walk Follow Eat Drink Water |
