It was a cold, chilly autumn morning. The wind seemed to creep in through invisible cracks between the windows and the walls. Galadriel shuffled around the Council chamber in an old cloak and slippers, waiting for the fire in the hearth to warm the room a bit. No one else was here today, and she settled down to read through some archives before starting on with normal Council business. Suddenly she sat up and stared at notice in front of her. “A year, a month, and a day.” Quote: Fellow authors and Holy Worlders, greetings. On September 20, 2009 this site was officially released. That date passed us a few weeks ago, and we scarcely noticed. This does not mean that we are going to neglect the exciting event of our first anniversary however! Indeed not! We have simply postponed it until October 21, exactly a year, a month, and a day from the original launching. We intend to celebrate! September 20! Why, that was just a few days away! They couldn't miss Holy World's birthday two years in a row! That would never go over with the citizens. Besides, this year they had three parties to celebrate! Missing one would mess up the entire process! Something would have to be done at once. Catching up her scarf off the hook she hurriedly went back out into the cold. She scurried over to the Fountain but half way there remembered that it was still broken from the recent change of location. Puzzled she went back to the Courtyard, wondering where she could get help this short of notice. Then she remembered, of course! On the lowest level of the Citadel was a very active set of rooms; the Planning Room. Here all the ranking members of the kingdom plotted wonderful surprises for the citizens, and fixed problems that might be reported. She let herself in, grateful for the warmth after the autumn chill outside. “Listen up everyone,” she said over the noise of keyboards typing and horns blowing that was constantly pervading the room. “We have a problem! How fast can you plan a birthday party?” The room went quiet as she explained the dilemma and then burst into a buzz of conversation. It didn't take long for the ideas to start flying about, and the keyboard clacking and horn blowing started up louder than ever. Galadriel smiled as the plans started to come together and went back out again, this time grateful for the quiet. This party is going to be perfect, she thought as she walked along the road. We just need one more thing. Aragorn listened patiently as she talked, and slowly a grin spread over his face. “I know just the thing,” he said mischievously. “Leave it to me. They'll never guess what's coming.” Mystified but elated Galadriel went to the Announcement tower and rang the bell. “Hear ye, hear ye! Citizens of Holy Worlds, I have an announcement to make. On Tuesday, September 20th Holy Worlds will celebrate it's second birthday! This is a day of great moment and celebration, and it shall not go unpassed before us. Much celebration and happiness shall occur, but the nature of which shall be obscured to you until then, to keep you in suspense and delight. Be sure to attend on that day, and bring a friend with you, for what better day to join a new kingdom than the very day upon which it was created? Behold, in the chat room we shall have a party and glitter shall not be lacking. All shall be happiness and merriment under the watchful eyes of King and Council. Long live Holy Worlds! Thanks be to God!” As the citizens of Holy World's echoed her cheer she smiled. This was going to be an amazing party. |

*got a lot of the wooting and jigs out of her system by reading the planning thread and so is somewhat sane* You're announcement posts are fantastic. Bring a friend, hm? *walks across room* *pokes sister* You know, if you'd do what I said to do for learning to touch type, you'd most likely be ready in time for HW's birthday. For those who don't know: my younger sister wants to join. My parents say she at least need to be able to type at a respectable pace, especially since she wants to make use of the chat. I retrained my fingers from a horrendous system I made up and learned to touch type properly within a week when I was younger than when my sister is now. My sister refuses to learn the way I learned. Therefore, I'm being an incredibly annoying and bossy big sis. |
