The questers stood in the dark, forbidding hall and faced their captor.

"You have committed many crimes against me!" he cried, rising up in his throne to shake his scepter threateningly at them. "You've trespassed on my land and tried to steal my dearest treasures! For this I could have you killed."

He sits back down and the prisoners shift uneasily, looking at each other.

"However," he resumes, enjoying their momentary confusion. "I will show you mercy. You say your business is that of questing, and finding rare objects. Find something for me." He leans forward, his brows meeting as his glares at them. "Last night my enemy stole my 14 precious dragon eggs!!! He carried them off from my treasure room and hid them all over my kingdom! These dragons eggs mean more to me than your petty lives, or even the treasure you attempted to steal. Find them, bring them all back to me, and I shall let you go, and you shall keep that which you came for."

The questers looked up hopefully and murmured eagerly to each other. This was their chance to get what they came for and leave alive! They had no quarrel with either their captor or his enemy, and they saw little reason not to recover the stolen dragon eggs. One of the questers spoke up, "Gladly will we seek them for you, lord, but where will we look? This kingdom of yours is vast and we know not where to begin."

Their captor nodded. "My eagles have spied out where my enemy hid them," he said. "But they speak only in riddles and rhymes. I can give you the clues to their location but you must decipher them for yourselves." He handed them a scroll of parchment written on in strange characters. They accepted it from his hand.

"Go now," he said, "And do not return without the Dragon Eggs!!!"

Okay everyone. Jaynin will be on shortly to give you all further instructions with your eggs, but I am here to clear some air in the interim.

The idea is to look through the new threads posted all over HW and find the hidden eggs. But remember, they are hidden. They will remain invisible until you put your cursor over them. So go looking and await Jaynin for clues and guesses at to which ML (or the big red guy) wrote them. Clear as mud now?

They stay invisible until your hover your cursor over them? That's crafty.

I can't stay. My "day job" of craft fairs calls. But I'll check back later in the afternoon/evening. Have fun, play nice, and don't blow a hole in the ceiling with those fireworks! It's getting cold around here, and we can't have a draft going. ;)

All right, sorry about the delay. Not my fault. When you find an egg post the link here so everyone can see it. If you want to find them all on your own, don't follow the links. (obviously)

The Dragon Hunt; Part Two
The questers peered at the heave parchment roll covered in strange lettering. "These are the oddest clues," someone said, "I hope we can figure out what they mean."

1. An egg that is blue like a depthless sea
Hidden below by the ACP
In a forum where fantasy people may wander
Where Neil of Erk on his creations ponders.

2. The egg is an enigmatic silver grey
But the place where it's found is happy and gay
In a post where a Marcher Lord issues a charge
Where jesters and acrobats celebrate at large.

3. This thread is older, as well it might be.
For this egg is larger than any you'll see.
Where Seer talks about fairies in writing
There you will find the lost egg you're hunting

4. This egg is orange like the desert sand
On the bottom of the page by your right hand.
Where Robin Hood's weapon is discussed with great glee
The answer to this riddle you'll see.

5. On the subject of smileys we don't all agree
But nine new smileys I'm sure you've all seen
A green egg is hiding in that thread as well
Down on the left side where no one can tell

6. The birthday room's a most popular place
And the awards are in a very nice space
For a sparkly blue egg to hide, holding tight
But still on the side, and half out of sight.

7. Speaking of smileys, oh what fun!
And orange egg's hiding in a poll for one!
Find out a place where you search, but beware!
These eggs are tricky and you must take care.

8. Sir Emeth Mimetes! The maker of eggs
Has hidden a colored one in his own thread
Go! Look down in the lower right corner
And leave a kind note for it's fabulous owner.

9. God is our maker, we speak of him often
We speak of him mostly in writing and such
Another gray egg in this thread is waiting
Up by the top, awaiting your touch

10. What is a Marcher Lord? Some like to know.
Well, a little yellow person who knows where to go.
A blue starred egg hides in this thread
In a room with a name of where books are most read.

11. Today is a party, and like parties go
We like to know everyone who was here.
So go check the thread where you're supposed to sign in,
And see the egg near the top of the page, my dears.

12. Everyone loves our happy chat room
And somewhere in there is an egg to be found
Look away! Don't get lost! and don't get distracted

13. Everyone loves a good book review
That's why you should look in the place I tell you
Where a heroine wields an odd colored sword
And an egg looks on from a lower corner.

14. This egg is missing and no one knows where.
Lost the link, lost the page, lost the code, beware!
When creators and Marcher Lords don't have a clue
When no one can find it, can you?

No, you don't "have" them yet. You have to decipher which member of the Marcher Lord Council wrote them for you. Then, if your answer is correct, you will have them. :D

'twas number 8.

Hmm. Do we post our guesses on here? And do we get multiple guesses, or do we just post one name and leave it at that?

There's another thread for guessing.

Here's 13

So, do we post the links on here and guess who wrote what for what number on the other thread?

Should we wait to guess until all eggs are found?

If nothing else, I'm having tons of fun seeing the different eggs and their colors. :D

It doesn't matter if you find them all first or not. Your preference. :D

I'll wait for someone else to go first. ;)

2. Court Jesters; Varon
4. Faery thread; Shawn
5. smiley thread; Shawn
8. Hail, Sir Emeth; Ciela Rose
12. Chat room; Carolyn found it first, but Shawn posted first, so it goes to both. :D

Hm... 12 and 13 seem to be the same egg. We have a problem here...

14 has been found! So I have a new riddle for you.

14. In a thread about notebooks and paper and pens
All the tools of a writer on fantasy bent
A yellow egg lurks in the upper right corner
Go on and find it before it decides to wander!

Ta-da!

http://www.holyworlds.org/08gh/ I think that's 14. Did someone else find that?

And I think I'm going to slow down on the egg hunt now. ;)

Wow, Ciela, you're a whiz. I found the one in the chat room. Going to look for another.... *walks off muttering*

EDIT: And I know who wrote the one I found, but I can't tell cause I cheated and read the MULCH forum (Marcher Lord's Council Hall -- sorry, I couldn't resist) over my mom's shoulder. I haven't read about any of the others. See if I can guess....

Haha, and the one on the Notebooks topic:
http://www.holyworlds.org/08gh/

Duchess, I don't think it's the same. There's a different pattern (maybe? I didn't look that closely) and a different prize.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)
