Post subject:  Welcome To Chevl'Set! (updated 06/15/11)

When time first began all things were right. The world Elah had molded with his hands, like that of skilled potter, contained beauty beyond description and the goodness in the inhabitants hearts was pleasing to him. It was a world of joy, peace, and faith. All was right and nothing was wrong. Life was eternal and death was yet to be made. All hearts longed for only good and all words were only kind. This was Chevl'Set in the beginning...the beginning before the end.

As it were; Elah chose a race (the Lumenians) to serve him all their lives. He chose to protect and love them and in return they would be faithful to him. This was a satisfying life for most Lumenians, for they were treated better than they felt they deserved, but one of them did not find this life to be worth contentment. Greed filled in this Lumenian's heart and he tapped into a dark force that had not been awoken. Power surged through his body and he became ever the more greedy. He turned against Elah and fought him with his newfound powers. Elah's hand was forced; he banned the traitor from the land in which the Lumenians had lived amongst him (Shamayim).

Outraged by his banishment, the traitor wandered Chevl'Set in search for the perfect revenge on Elah. He changed his name to Pavix and took on the form of lies and deceit. Through his wandering he happened upon a race, humans, and they were weak of spirit. So he spent his days whispering hateful thoughts into their ears and telling them stories of little truth. The humans easily fell into his trap and were caused to fall from their place as well. They forgot all of their world's history other than a few legends worthy not of the true glory of the history. With their memory also went their common sense and they hid behind the mountains at the far south end of Chevl'Set. They created three villages; Realta (the village of the fighters), Yernen (the weak of heart), and Wesmorin (the village of deceivers).

So their fate was decided; they would live (cowering behind the mountainous terrain) without knowledge of their past and with little hope of their future. This is what brings us to today. When truth is viewed as lies and history itself has been forgotten and buried deep within the unexplored and feared lands. A place of many hidden secrets and even more hidden powers. Forces unimaginable are left to decay in the darkness of lies and truth, more important life itself, is tossed to the side as an archer would toss a used arrow. Despite all these things, we still do not reach the end of our world. For Elah is of a merciful and forgiving heart and he has seen the thoughts of a special three...a chosen three. They shall reveal the truth and shatter lies, wield the powers and defeat the evil, and open eyes of the lost and close the mouth of traitors. They are the keys to unlocking the mysteries of Chevl'Set. A last hope in a world with no truth.

What Lies In The Dark (summary):
We meet Emuna, Brian, and Gavin as they face the beginning of their journey. When separated in a group while traveling the Northern Mountains they discover secrets of the past and lies they had been told was truth. They must rush to Shamayim before the very dark forces they wish to fight against overtake one of their own. During their rush to safety and refuge they all face their own challenges and are pressed to limits they can barely withstand, forced to actions they may regret. While battling with themselves they must defeat an infamous villain that wishes for only one thing; power. Will they defeat him or fall into the trap of greed as well?
Book 1 in the Chevl'Set series.

What Lurks In The Forest (summary):
Gavin, Brian, and Emuna return back to Realta after being gone for two months. They bring along their trusted friend, David, and new discoveries about the unexplored lands. But when they return they find they are not the only ones that have changed. In their absence evil has taken over and captured their family, overpowering the small town they had once lived in. Now the three of them must fight the evil, save their loved ones, and keep themselves alive. This will lead up to the discovery of a heart-wrenching secret and the loss of a life.
Book 2 in the Chevl'Set series.

And....that's a little bit about my world. I'll post a little map next time I'm on my computer, but for now I think that's all I'll post.

Aside from this being a welcome thread, I'm also going to make it my Questions & Answers thread! :D "Why? When you can just make another thread?" Well....for one I'm lazy and for two, I doubt I'll need a whole thread just for questioning and answering. So you get a welcome thread and a Q&A thread all smashed into one! Yay! Now, feel free to comment, ask questions, and...yah...that's probably all y'all will do...huh? Okay, so feel free to comment and ask questions!

Oooh, neat. :D Is Chevl'Set a planet alone in a universe, or is it one of many planets, or is it the universe itself?

It's the only planet in the universe, but there are still stars and nebulas and etc. It's just the only actual planet that sustains intelligent life.

Good question, though...I hadn't really thought about it that much until you asked...

An excellent history Bethy! Wow, I am completely impressed. I particullary want to know more about those three villages. If you could post something on them soon that would be awesome!

Thanks! :) I'm working out the history of the villages sort of...but since I haven't written about it in my book I am yet to write any of it down. :P I'll hopefully put something up soon, though! :D

Yes, but there are human-like races such as the Lumenians or dwarves.

What kind of plants are there? Animals?
Are there names for the branches of elves?
What kind of money/currency?
What are things worth?
Are there stores?

Planets or plants? I don't have any other planets and as for plants they are pretty much the same as earth as far as I have developed them.

Animals? A lot of birds (different kinds of birds that I'm inventing). The main animals are the Lupis, birds, horses, and insects. Which covers a lot of areas...but I'm working on that. ;)

Mm...don't believe I have elves. I have Lumenians, which aren't elves, they're...well...Uhh...Lumenians. A race I invented. As for names of different kinds...not really, no. There's just the strong Lumenian and weaker Lumenian, though everyone views everyone equally. So there's no conflict between the two.

There isn't a money or currency everyone makes their own things and hunts their own food. They make their own weapons, etc. No need for money when there's nothing you can buy.

The worth of things...hmm...not much, I would imagine. Except for jewelry because you have to be the friend of a jewelry maker to get jewelry, either that or you can trade work for an item.

Haha, nope, don't think there are stores.

Thanks for all the questions! :dieshappy:

Yay! Great job so far, Bethany! :) I think it's neat that there is no money in Chevl'set. Wouldn't it make life so much simpler if it was the same for us? (It would also cut down on the amount of stuff people would have laying around, because they'd have to trade it to get new stuff. ;) )
